by far the best service provider.
Advantages: see text Disadvantages: see text
Nationwide are the largest building society in the world. The only bank that is larger than them is HSBC. Nationwide offer a wide range of products such as loans, credit cards, current accounts, savings accounts, bonds etc. Whilst their interest rates on certain products are not brilliant at the moment, they are one of the most secure establishments to put your money into at the moment. They are part of the FSA guarantee, stating that if anything ... ...50,000 of any investments that you have with the society. Their online website is quick, efficient and easy to navigate. You are required to have a customer number, a pass number and 3 forms of your own memorable data, ensuring that the security of your bank details is exceptional. The branch staff and call centres are helpful and do their utmost to satisfy any needs you might have. I find them a brilliant company to work for, and a satisying service ...

NO VACANCIES IN THIS B&B
Advantages: It is still kicking, but it is really Abbey Disadvantages: Too many
...VACANCIES IN THIS B&B BRADFORD AND BINGLEY The natural instinct of capitalism is to devour all wounded. No humanistic values matter in the financial sector. Capitalism has hit a ?brick-wall? and now ?new capitalism? has to be re-born for capitalistic markets to be recognised as having any worth. Hence, the lending laws, have been changed along with FISCAL laws along with reviewing financial sectors; whether for it?s worth or basic ethic criteria; ... ...the current downturn. In fact Bradford and Bingley (B&B) are not even classified as a financial dwelling. They are in fact trading, but are not. Confused? Yes, exactly, let me entertain you further. B&B have an excellent facilitated office environment fit for two men in bowler hats. They treat their clients with utmost of fascination now; B&B staff have inherited a quirky offset wince; since September 2008; confidence is whittled down to a shell ...

Don't trust this company
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Don't be fooled they don't care about their customers.
Don't trust this company! It treats its existing customers in an unfair, underhand and unscrupulous manner. When your current product comes to an end and you have to phone them to enquire about new products because they won't get in touch with you to tell you it has ended or let you know about current products, as I discovered the last time my product came to an end and was put onto the standard variable rate without my knowledge for a year. Which ... ...money to them. As a result of your telephone enquiry they make new product offers to customers by telephone, which are accepted by the customer but then withdrawn if the formal acceptance that they send out for signature takes longer than 10 days for the turn around postal trip. Unfortunately neither YBS or I have control over the postal service but both had to rely on it as YBS did not even allow the acceptance to be faxed back after being signed ...

Efficient customer service
Advantages: A mutual with good customer care Disadvantages: No branches near me
I have a basic internet savings account, and I have been impressed with what I have experienced so far.
The customer service is very good and very prompt.
When I completed an application it was very simple and when I posted documents on a Sunday, they were back in my hand on the Tuesday - so credit to Royal Maill too.
Whenever I have had the need to call I have spoken to a helpful person.
I fund my account by a regular direct debit, tbough due ... ...increase this now - can't remember why and could be wrong. Anyway I also have a cash card that can be used in any LINK ATM which is handy for immediate withdrawals as there is no Scottish branches.
You can also deposit and withdraw via their website, which is simple, but clear and efficient., allowing you to do everything.
Statements for my account is every six months and they too are clear and simple.
Interest can be paid to your account or another ...

Britannia building Society - poor poor poor
Advantages: none Disadvantages: inconsistent advice, false promises, missed deadlines
Probably the most incompetent bunch of idiots I have ever come across.
I am trying to buy a new house, I am an existing customer, have a massive deposit and am marked as 'ultra safe' as a customer - even with my slightly larger mortgage.
I have been calling 3 times a day 6 days a week for the past two weeks to get them to approvae my mortgage. They have been telling me that my mortgage will be 'assessed' in 24-48 hours. I am now about to lose our ... ...application and the exchange date was today (already postponed from last week). Inconsistencies, misinformation and incompetence. With their delays you would have thought we were in the middle of a boom.
Avoid them and watch their business fail - it will if this is how they treat their existing customers. ...
