Game Introduction

To sum it all up - Jimmy Hopkins, a 15 year old boy who has been expelled from a lot of different schools, has been sent to Bullworth Academy by his mother and step dad - who are going on a cruise for a year. So Jimmy is left all alone in a new school. Then, after only being in there for five minutes gets bullied by Bullies. And, supposing that the player will win the quick fight - gets sent to the Boys Dorm shortly afterwards. I won't give away too much of the start of the game.

Bully is just like Grand Theft Auto. Being developed by Rockstar of course, the player is allowed to explore the school and, the town of Bullworth. And must complete missions to advance more in the game. But it isn't all like Grand Theft Auto - for a start, you have to earn respect by types of people. Bullies, Nerds, Jocks, Greasers, Preppies and Townies. When you first walk in the school, all the respect is down to 50%. So everybody just wants to beat you up, basically. You earn people's respect by doing missions, errands, jobs and so on...

But as I said, it is not all like Grand Theft Auto, anyway, if you want to know the differences between Bully and Bully: Scholarship Edition, you've come to the right place. Well, for a start - there are four new classes, six new missions, better graphics and new characters. If you think that you would rather stick to the old Bully because you might think that it's just not worth it to by a new game but with a few, minor changes. Well, think again, because it really is not. I think that Bully is actually best on the Wii for reasons. There you have of course, the new function of the Wii remote to play with!

Controls

The new controls with the Wii actually work very well. But then again, the Wii version is considered to be harder than the Xbox and PS2 versions! Because for a start, when you have to take aim with your 'Super Slingshot's scope - you will have to point at the screen to move the slingshot. Which is really quite dodgy. Because usually I try to point to the screen whilst aiming only to find that it is really off track. It doesn't cooperate with the controls that well.

Another thing that is dodgy is the classes. Especially the new ones, if you had Bully on the Wii then you would understand. The controls don't work properly. Because on Bully sometimes in classes you will have to see yourself doing actions with buttons/or the remote. Like in Chemistry, you have to move your Wii remote like it tells you to do on the screen. For instance, you would have to stir/shake the remote to mix up a potion. Or in the Shop, press buttons and shake it. The problem is, it don't work sometimes! I do as instructed on the screen, but it really does not work for some annoying reason. On the PS2 or the Xbox it's a piece of cake. Because you press buttons on the controller to advance. On the Wii it's different. (Or quite glitchy in my way).

And another thing what makes the Wii version harder than the PS2 and Xbox, is the fighting. When you throw a punch, or kick, you have to actually punch and shake the Wii remote to do it. Whereas on the Xbox or PS2 versions of the game - you just lazily press buttons repeatability. Really, like on the Boxing Match on Bully, you had to do three rounds of fighting the Preps and it wore me out! Things like glitchy class commands, and fighting, and small and delicate actions you have to do make the Wii version harder.

Gameplay

The gameplay is just the best thing about it. In reality, the best thing about playing Bully are their missions - once I completed the game I was dying to do the final boss battle again because of its outstanding creative ideas. But foolishly, I always kept one save file through out the game, so it was either I could start ALL over again, or... be bored. So I'm bored of it now. I wish I could go back to playing those missions, and if I were you - I would advise you to SAVE your game in DIFFERENT save files. Just in case you would like to go back and replay those missions. I think that the missions are the best parts of the game. The thing that makes the game so outstanding, great and fun to play is the missions. And for extra fun, Bully: Scholarship Edition - like I said gets six new missions. I don't know what those missions are though, to be honest... but it must be something to do with the new characters in the game.

So, you may be wondering, after you have completed the game, and after you have collected everything, like rubber bands, C&G Cards, costumes and completed all three last epilogue missions (like me), what do you do now? That's the only problem. After you completed the game, fully, you'll get VERY bored. There will be nothing else to do except to do some bike races and dodge ball matches to earn money... they are fun, and everlasting, but what's the point? This is why I really want Rockstar to make another Bully game. But, sadly, they can't. Because the voice actor who voiced Jimmy quit. But still, even if they do make another Bully game, then they could improve on Multiplayer functions. The thing is, in the first Bully game didn't have any Multiplayer functions. But Bully: Scholarship Edition does. And they aren't really that worth doing. They consist on all the classes, you just grab a friend and another controller to play classes and mini games such as, Biology, Slingshot Shooting, etc... so really, I think Rockstar could improve on that and at least do what Grand Theft Auto did, and make Multiplayer functions go online, play other people against the world, and this time, play in the actual game. Not just little mini games...

I was always curious as to what this one was like - I now consider myself enlightened. Great write-up. You'll be going green in no time with this standard of writing, though appreciate its hard to stand out amongst the army of white dots on this site at the mo. You get my vote anyway... 8^)
