Bulmers Original Cider

Introduction If I were to associate foods that remind me of the warmer months then Strawberries and Cream would be on the list of things synonymous with Summer. Similarly a cool refreshing drink taken outside and enjoyed in the sunshine would also spring to mind and having enjoyed a couple of hot days recently and taking advantage of the balcony at my caravan I couldn't resist putting a few bottles of my favourite Summer drink, Cider, into my shopping basket on a recent trip to Tesco. Cider is my absolute favourite alcoholic drink. Since discovering it years ago I've tried a rather large selection, (although not all in one sitting fortunately) and find it a refreshing alternative to beer and spirits. It doesnt come with the same bloaty feeling you get after a few beers but has roughly the same alcohol content and has become synonomous with summer and festivals, Bulmers is an Irish cider and is probably my least favourite from the wide cider selection available. What makes a good cider ? Is it the strength ? Is it the flavour ? The addition of ice cubes ? Well, Diamond White would probably win the strength contest, ice-cubes are a definite 21st century invention which traditional manufacturers despise and flavour is a very subjective matter.
