“Great Summer Drink!!”

Refreshing Change

Big bottle, remember your bottle opener

Background: Cider has always been one of my favourite drinks. In my younger days I used to love either Strongbow or Woodpecker Ciders. These days there seems more choice with more extensive advertising campaigns to encourage us on warm summer days to enjoy a refreshing glass of cider with ice...

“Tasty Pear Cider”

published 02/05/2009

Tasty

Doesn't really taste of pears

Bulmers Pear Cider: On a recent trip to the supermarket I spotted some Bulmers Pear Cider on offer and decided to give it a go as I love REAL cider and have liked a couple of Pear Ciders in the past. The bottle is what initially attracted me to it; it is a large, (568ml), brown glass bottle with...

“What a load of Bul (mers)!”

Good value if you are a fan of apples

Tastes too much like apple cider

I am a big fan of pear ciders which is no secret and in particular I find Kopperberg to be one of the best; though that's just my opinion. With the popularity of the pear cider phenomenon in recent times it's also seen the prices of such popular brands soar. For a regular sized bottle of...

“Subtle Sweetness”

tastes smooth

pear taste not very strong

When I’m having a drink and want to have something quite smooth and easy on the stomach I always tend to go for a cider. I do like most brands of cider but I find the likes of Magners and Bulmers just seem to go down a lot nicer. I usually buy the normal Bulmers but at the weekend I wanted a bit...

Refreshing pear cider

Lacks the richness of some other ciders that I'm u...

At one time (a long time ago) I was a complete party animal. However no longer am I and I wouldn't say I'm at all anti-drink but it's really occasionally I participate as I find that alcohol really doesn't suit my somewhat fiery temperament at all! However I now live in Somerset and my mate runs...

Good

Pleasant taste, refreshing

Not very strong

I thought I'd better write this now before I totally forget what it tastes like in the morning! ~The Product~ Basically it's a Pear Cider, according to the label it's vat matured for a unique refreshing taste. It's not a particularly strong drink at just 4.5%. One 568ml bottle is 2.6 units. ~My...

“Apples or Pears??”

Refreshing taste

Cost

Bulmers is the worlds largest cidermaker. Bulmer's Pear Cider is 4.5% and it's available from most off-licenses, restaurants and pubs - typically selling for between £2.00 - £4.00 per bottle depending on where it's purchased. I bought it as I had enjoyed the taste of Bulmer's Original and thought...

“What a lovely pear???!!!”

published 14/09/2008

Its very very tastey, Its different in a good way.

Cost in pubs and restaraunts.

This is a refreshing take on cider. The taste of pear when you drink cider for a start is a little strange but the more you drink the more it seems to appeal to you. It is very smooth and quite sweet to go with it. The taste is more refreshing than apple cider and it doesn't seem to be quite as...

“Bulmer's Pear Cider 568ml”

published 19/11/2008

Great taste, established brand.

Can be expensive in some outlets.

I find that this one of the best bitesize perry's you can get. It comes from Herefordshire which has a long cider making tradition and makes some of the best cider in the world. It's dry, smooth and sweet in equal measures, and you know about it when you've had a few! I have been to Hereford and...

Satisfactory

published 09/05/2008

I have drunk this, as have several of my friends and we have all had a bad stomach with the unpleasant consequences that go with that. The quantities drunk varied from 2 to 8 bottles. It was not until we started talking that we realised we had all suffered at various times. None of us drink it now. I am informed it is the high levels of sulphates in it that cause the reaction. Your choice!

Excellent

light and refreshing with a hint of pears

would be good availiable in large bottles

I am a regular drinker of pear cider as i have a bit of a sweet tooth, i have tried quite a few different makes and this is in my opinion one of the best. Its good value for money as you get quite a large bottle and is widely available in supermarkets and pubs. Briliant when you have had a hard...

I loved the taste of pear cider. I found it alot smoother than apple cider, and less tangy. The only drawback is its availability and price. The big brewers need to start producing alot more pear cider to make it more widely available so we can see sold in the same quantities as apple cider. While...
