I hadn't realised there were so many different Burberrys though.

So when I found myself downtown today (last minute trawl of the shops to find the kids halloween outfits - it's the same last minute rush every year!) I decided to drag them into Boots for five minutes and give Burberry a go.

So, using feminine logic, I made the only decision I could. Today was Saturday, so... it had to be Burberry Weekend.
Now, according to my sources (ie. websites and adverts) Burberry Weekend combines the clear, luminous essence of citrus with a rich floral heart and a woodsy, musky base.
Top notes: Tangerine, Sap Greenness, Reseda Greenness Middle notes: Blue Hyacinth, Wild Rose, Orris, Nectarine Bottom notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk
The packaging is simple and smart. A kind of mellow yellow box with white writing on and the trademark Burberry pattern along the bottom. The bottle is a kind of squat bell shape in clear frosted glass which shows the mellow yellow perfume inside. Again the Burberry trademark is printed around the bottom.

My personal opinion: well, I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting from a Burberry perfume... but I don't think it was this.
To my mind the most noticable part of this fragrance is the citrus quality. And, unfortunately for me, it reminds me too much of a soap we used to use once.
Now, again, as in one of my previous perfume reviews, don't get me wrong. This is quite a pleasant fragrance. It certainly isn't offensive or too strong and overpowering. It's actually quite clean and fresh smelling. It's just not for me.
Perhaps I've been spoiled for any other fragrance by my Deep Red (which I have to say I still love and have had loads of compliments on!).
But one perfume isn't enough for a girl, is it?! Especially a Gemini (which I am!) I need atleast two for my split personalities (my husband says more! - and who am I to argue... when it comes to buying perfumes, anyway!!)
So I'll see you all next time - there are still a few more perfumes I could try.
...you can imagine then, receiving Burberry Weekend for Women as a gift recently left me saying 'Mm, thanks' and feeling terribly ungrateful!
Wracked with guilt, I felt obliged to have a squirt before meeting up with said generous friend and to my horror, I actually liked it, a LOT!
The Packaging

I was attracted to the lovely sunny mottled yellow colour of the box. Simple white writing across the front gives it a delicate, light feel. This, ... ...the overly-familiar Burberry Nova check running along the base.
I was bought the 30 ml size and the box is roughly a 7cm cube. The bottle inside seemed somewhat small and squat, just under 6cm in diameter and the main body of the bottle about 2.5cm high. It is topped with a nice brushed silver lid which reminded me of a champagne cork in shape, nicely engraved with the Burberry horse logo on the top and with the word 'Burberry' around the edge. ...

Advantages: attractive pleasant scent strong enough to last a day - doesnt break the bank Disadvantages: cute but not entirely fashionable bottle - doesn't lend itself to nights out
...expensive than some of the pepperspray you can find in a hyped up bottle out there.
Some of my friends have come across this too and loved it as a wee gentle perfume to enjoy wearing. In fact, that's it summed up. Burberry weekend is a pleasure to wear. ...

OOOOOH I love Burberry products. I still want an original Burberry bag and not one of those crappy FAux ones of the market a real genuine Burberry bag (any donations gladly acepted! or maybe I need to get myself a richer feller!)
However I cannot afford such luxuries as posh spice so I threfor do not possess and do not look likely to possess a Burberry bag in the near future. But its not all bad news whilst out shopping in chester last week I was ... ...of me, a selection of Burberry fragrances, atleast i could have a small amount of expensive glamour for just £15.99 for a 30 mll bottle. "Gimme a sniff" I asked the assistant and she sprayed a bit on to a card for me.
Burberry weekend was my choice of fragrance and instantley I fell in love with the fresh yet not overpowering whiff. The box does not give any ingrediants as a give away to what mixtures are used to make this heavenly scent. If you ...

My friend bought me Burberry Weekend for my birthday about 2 years ago and I have been hooked on it ever since!
Packaging
I would describe the packaging for Burberry Weekend are being quite summary. The bottle comes in a pale yellow box which is decorated with the Burberry hatching. Across the front of the box Burberry Weekend in white italic writing. The bottle itself has a circular top, but obviously has a flat bottom. The bottle looks quite ... ...is silver and has the Burberry logo printed on the very top of it. The famous Burberry hatching runs around the outside of the bottle in white and Burberry Weekend is also written in white italic writing across the bottle. Price

...a silver lid with the burberry name stamped on it and a knight in shining armour racing accross the top! (Every woman's dream!)
And i would presume the compact size, although not a reduction in volume (Standard size 50ml) would fit easily into the average handbag.
The smell is fruity with just a hint of musk, yet very subtle (And it lasts all day! so the wife tells me!) By no means is it overpowering, It's a very pleasant smell,and im sure it must ... ...is that it's always the Burberry im buying!,and she now thinks it's the only brand of perfume i know!
In summary, this has a lovely scent, good staying power (I.e you dont need to keep re-applying all night!) good packaging design, excellent value for money. And is a sure fire winner for this xmas (Or just to say "sorry") When you are buying that special bottle of perfume! ...

Packaging
The Burberry London bottle has a piece of the Burberry design wrapped around the bottle. What makes the perfume bottle different is that the Burberry design around the bottle is actually made of out cloth. The only downside to this unique design is that you can't see how much of the perfume if left in the bottle. The lid is square and silver.
Price
Price varies depending on where you buy this perfume from. But roughly, you would look to pay around £27 for a 30ml bottle, £37 for a 50ml bottle ...

This is by far my favourite perfume to date (apart from BurberryWeekend which is surprisingly good considering I hate all things Burberry!) It has a chocolatey smell....clever marketing there as most women love chocolate so you're immediately on to a winner!
The bottle is quite unusual, but you don't get much for your money. It's one of the more expensive perfumes. My favourite thing about it is that whenever I wear it, someone in the room always says "who's wearing Angel?" It's a very distinctive smell but to me it isn't over-powering.
If you're not into sweet smells then it may not be for you but I haven't had anyone tell me I smell like a Mars Bar yet, so it must be ok!!! ...
