I have always like the smell of Burberry perfumes so when I received Burberry Weekend one Christmas I was sure that this one would be up to the usual standard
The Bottle Burberry Weekend comes in quite a short fat bottle made of thick slightly frosted glass, although the glass is transparent enough for you to see the dark yellow/ golden coloured perfume inside The bottle is rounded in shade, being wider at the bottom and narrowing towards the top. Around the bottom of the bottle are the Burberry white squares printed on the bottle, above this are the words Burberry London again written in white lettering. The bottle has a silver coloured lid with the word Burberry written around the rim and the Burberry logo imprinted in the top which is a man and a horse. I personally think the bottle is quite stylish and is attractive enough to have standing out. The bottle from what I remember came in a yellow box with the Burberry squares around the top and bottom with the words Burberry London written across the middle. I cannot remember the exactl detail of the box as this was thrown out more or less straight away.
The Perfume As I said the perfume is dark yellow/ gold in colour. The smell is quite a difficult one to describe, when sniffing it I cannot smell one particular fragrance, however it is described as a combination of essence of citrus with a rich floral heart and a musky base. Personally I would not describe this as a floral smelling perfume, neither can I smell any hint of citrus, however I do have to agree that this is quite a musky perfume. The initially fragrance can come across as quite harsh when first sprayed however this soon tones down to leave a more delicate musk scent. The fragrance can be quite strong and would be overpowering if too much was used at once, it is certainly a case of a little goes a long way. The spray button on the top means that you can spray a light mist over yourself without applying too much.
I would definatly agree with the name of perfume in that is a fragrance more suited to weekend or evening wear. I have worn this perfume for work before but with its strong musky scent I think it is more suited to evening/ weekend wear. The strong fragrance also means that it lasts for a very long time, a small amount of Burberry Weekend would without a doubt last all evening without fading, on the occasions that I have worn this fragrance in the day time the smell has last all day and well into the evening, after nights out I can still smell a hint of it on me the next day, this makes the perfume very long lasting and very economical.
As I was bought this perfume as a present I am unsure of the exact price of it however I do know that it can be purchased in shops such as Boots, Superdrug and various online shops. A 100ml bottle of Burberry Weekend can be bought for £26.59 at www.cheapsmells.com
Overall I have been very impressed with this perfume, it has a lovely feminine fragrance and is something a little bit different to my usual perfumes. It is certainly one I would recommend.
Advantages Feminine fragrance Long lasting Do not need much at once making it long lasting Can be bought at a reasonable price Attractive bottle
Disadvantage For me none, but the fragrance may be a little too harsh for some peoples tastes, I find the hasrness does wear off quickly leaving a lovely musky fragrance which lasts all day.
