I don’t know why I do it. You’d have though I’d have learnt my lesson a long time ago. But no, those hunger pangs come on, I look at the pictures and the food looks so nice that I return to the scene of the crime time and time again. And time and time again I never cease to be amazed and disappointed by the fare that is served p to me. One day I will learn, don’t buy food from Burger King.
I suppose the problem is that they are so convenient. I do a lot of travelling by rail and there is a Burger King at all the major railway stations I travel through, and with all the delays on the rail network I often find myself getting rather peckish waiting for my train. I find myself drawn to the convenience of Burger King, a whole meal I can take with me onto the train (should it ever arrive!) for only £3.99, sounds great yet it seldom is.
The first problem I have is being vegetarian, which somewhat limits my choice at Burger King. I can choose a Veggie Whopper or, erm a Veggie Whopper! They sell a spicy beanburger,m but this isn’t strictly vegetarian as it’s cooked on the same skillet as the meat burgers. What’s the problem with that? I hear you cry, well nothing if you don’t mind meat juices all over your food. For most of you that’s not a problem, but for me, it rather puts me off, so Veggie Whopper it is (it’s ‘warmed’ in the microwave, so no meat juice problem!).
I feel like a bit of a mind reader, as I can tell you are all thinking ‘how can a veggie write a review of Burger King, when their main food is a beefburger! Well, I wasn’t always a veggie, and some of what I say below applies to the meat stuff as well.
But I’ll begin with the aforementioned Veggie Whopper. Strangely enough this is a veggie burger, made up of various vegetables cooked and squashed into a burger shape. The problem is I’ yet to eat one of these hot! Rather than being cooked on the skillet, they are microwaved, but never seem to be put in for long enough. Now it isn't exactly rocket science heating up a veggie burger, but Burger King seem to have severe trouble getting this right. Marry this up with lettuce, tomato, gerkin and cold mayo and you end up with a somewhat chilly burger. The does spoil your enjoyment of what should be a hot meal, and I suppose this has tainted my opinion of Burger King, but it really does baffle me how they can cock-up something so simple as heating something up in a microwave! And to top things off, I find that their burger buns are somewhat ‘chewy’ (stale?) whilst some people might like this, it’s not to my taste!!!
Well, after completely assassinating their Veggie Whopper, (they do so I thought I’d join in!) I think I’ll make a start on their drinks. Hmmmm, well they’re cold and ermmmmm wet, and they have ice.... The drinks suffer from the problems often associated with using post-mix. For the uninitiated of you not familiar with they system, let me explain. With postmix, a syrup of your drink is mixed with carbonated water, and viola, you have your Coke, Fanta etc. It’s kind of like an industrial sized Soda Stream, and anyone who’s ever owned a Soda Stream will know it can be somewhat tricky making the perfect Coke! The most common problem I find at Burger King is the drinks are often not very fizzy, which is OK for a still water, but not too good for a Coca Cola. Another problem is not getting the dilution right, meaning you either get a rather weak drink, or a very syrupy Coke (some would say Coke is ALWAYS syrup, but I couldn’t possibly comment!) These problems aren’t just confined o Burger King, most businesses using postmix seem to suffer swell, still, it does make them vast profits, so I don’t suppose they will change to selling cans or bottles anytime soon (a litre of post-mix drink costs about 5p!)
The final item on my menu was the fries. I’ll keep this bit brief and lay off Burger King a bit. These were quite good, warm, crisp and not too much salt. All you could expect from a piece of fried potato, a good effort!.
Well, having pulled apart their food, what can I move onto next. Ah yes, the queuing system, or lack of one! Their so-called queuing system really does leave a lot to be desired. Sorry, I think I’ve actually used the word queue several times already, I should have said rugby scrum. They have several tills open and a mass of people around them. It is difficulty to tell if you are in a queue (scrum!) or not. The only way to get your order in is to catch someones eye, or elbow people out of the way, the latter not being recommended, particularly if the person next to you is 6ft6!!!! Why can’t they have a queuing system like banks or the post office, they seem to work well, imagine it “server number 1 please”. They could even have a recorded greeting so they don’t always have to say “can I take your order please!”.
The food may be fast, and it may be convenient, but I really am going to have to learn that it just isn't worth it. I’d rather pay money money or wait longer and get myself something decent, and probably a bit more nutritious too! Better still, maybe it’s about time I got up early enough to make some sandwiches before I go out.
Advantages: Convenient, good food (especially chips), good selection. Disadvantages: Expensive, variable prices. Not good on small things such as packaging, straws etc.
...course referring to McDonalds, for Burger King is firmly thrashed by the greasy, overweight giant from across the Atlantic.
So what is that based on? Well I suppose I’m a fan of fast food and needless to say my waistline is expanding rapidly. I concede that I usually visit McDonalds, KFC or a local chippy for my daily (oohps I meant annual) intake of cholesterol. However I visit Burger King regularly and have developed a number of opinions ... ...giants. Walking into Burger King one is immediately struck, and duly impressed, by the large selection of food on offer. The “Big King” is perhaps the most hyped attraction, but you can also purchase a “Whopper”, a “Giant Whopper”? (I don’t think its called that, but I’m having one of those rather irritating and invariably alcohol-induced memory lapses, or perhaps it is the aforementioned Big King?), ...

...lot of other opinions on Burger King already, but I just couldn't resist having my say. As you will know if you have read my opinion on Gillette Satin Care shave gel (and if you haven't, why haven't you?) I am very hairy. And now I also have to confess that I am fat. Advantages: Cheap Food Disadvantages: Not as good as Mc Donalds
...for the last 20 years, Burger King is a fast food chain that has established itself here in the United Kingdom as, well as many other countries of the world. ***SO IS THE FOOD ANY GOOD?*** The food in Burger King in my opinion isn’t too bad. Basically the same rule applies ‘You get what you pay for”. A meal containing a large burger, chips and a soft drink isn’t bad for £3.50. Though there isn’t any guarantees of the ... ...always found when eating at Burger King, is that when I came out from having my meal I still feel hungry, chips are also heavily salted so that you get a larger drink and so pay more. ***WHAT’S THE SERVICE LIKE?*** As I have said at the beginning of my opinion, service is although not the best . Service ...

...went back to the same Burger King after a long clothes buying session in the nearby shops, ready for the kids going back to school.
This time, the staff were extremely rude and ignorant. Once again, they had no veggie burgers, but after much huffing and puffing and consultations with managers, decided it would probably be alright to put a bean burger in for the same price.
Then, they said they couldn't take payment by cards, became fairly affronted ... ...way we're going to *that* Burger King again.

We ate at the same Burger King yesterday, only to find that it wasn't half as good as last time.
There appeared to be only two staff on duty on the counter, with half the place 'closed for cleaning' with no cleaning going on.
There were no ...

...their burgers. A McDonald's burger would never make me wish I wasn't a veggie, but BK does sometimes ALMOST start to tempt me (and believe me that says a lot!)
Anyway, on to the vegetarian products on offer. In BK, you do get a choice. There is the Spicy Bean Burger, or the Veggie Whopper. You can also add cheese to the Veggie Whopper if you wish. Having said that, I am not a big fan of anything containing beans, and I have to be in the right mood for spicy food, so that is probably why I wasn't keen!
The Veggie Whopper, however, is another ...

Advantages: nice food, quick service Disadvantages: price, toilets
The Tootsies I normally go to (well used to!) was in Bluewater but it recently got changed to its owners brand GFK Burger. I used to love going to Tootsies, with its American style ambience and food I felt it had a lot to offer.
The menu which had recently been changed encompasses burgers, steaks, chicken meals and a few other options for those who want to try something different. If you're a burger lover you're in luck as they have a lot of options on what you can put on it! Whether you want to go mad and have eggs, onions and pineapples on your burger or go simple and just have lettuce, mayonaise and tomato the choice is yours!
The prices are reasonable for a restaurant but if you want something cheaper there's always Macdonalds or BurgerKing. The service is very quick and the majority of the time there never seemed to be that ...

Advantages: Fast Food Disadvantages: Not the Nuggets
I used to be a fan until I found BurgerKing.
I think they should build these restaurants next door to each other so you can get the bits you want from each and then sit in a communal eating hall to eat.
Macdonalds have very plastic type food which is all a bit too clinical for my liking. It actually tastes a bit like the packaging looks. Processed.
The Fries are nice though and the Chicken Nuggets are out of this world.
The thing is, unless you want A big Mac, you have to wait about 10 mins for anything to be cooked.
Forget your box of 20 Nuggets, they have to ring extra staff up to come in and cover while they cook that many!
The Donuts are also Tops. If Homer Simpson was real, he would eat all the time at Macdonalds for their Donuts.
What would make it better was if it was Licenced because I find it tastes real good ...
