Safe & Secure
Review of ADT alarm by PeteLuv

Advantages: Monitored system, cost effective, a national brand
Disadvantages: None

...really surprised to discover that ADT was the most cost effective out of them all. The reason for this is that my installation only cost £299 which includes the Metropolitan Police Registration fee. The system was installed in about 5 hours with the minimum mess. I opted also for a combined smoke/C02 detector that alerts the alarm receiving centre if I have a fire/gas leak. Most quotes I got were around the £900 mark plus the £300 or so a year for ...
...it has to have an ADT alarm, or you get another fitted). All in all, I think that having an ADT box on the outside of my home is a sure way to tell all the opportunist intruders that I'm not messing around when it comes to home security. Granted, it is £25/month, but for that I get piece of mind knowing that if my alarm goes off for any reason, I get police/fire brigade response and I know that someone is on their way in an emergency. I found that ... Read review

You will then be able to check the status of your home security online from any computer over the net and set up your alerts to mobiles and landline phones so when the alarm is activated it will let you know you can register three numbers to be alerted. 6. The piece of mind alarm
Review of Wickes Wire free alarm system by sarahbarrow

Advantages: Easy to use.
Disadvantages: Watch out for the box settings

We purchased our Wicks wire free alarm when we moved into our new house three years ago, having been burgaled two years previously at our former address i needed something to give me piece of mind having two young children in the house (i became a bit of a basket case for a while after, and have developed ocd since!!) The alarm came with a keypad that has to be near a plug socket and plugged in at all times, although there is a solar battery in ...
...also get as part of the basic package two room sensors that if placed in the correct part of the room ie, the corner, scans 180 degrees round the room to detect movement. You also have three door sensors that detect the doors being opened. I would like to say that it was extremely easy to install, but i didn't do it myself my dad and uncle are called on for any electrical or diy things in the family!!!! The motion detecters are just screwed into ... Read review

Micromark Wirefree Alarm System
Review of Micromark Wirefree Dual Powered Alarm. by Mrcellcept

Advantages: Easy to Install
Disadvantages: Has a mind of its own!

...the system. Spoke to Micromark who suggested lots of little things that didnt work, even suggested changing batteries which were just a week old! I took it back in the end, to Argos where I bough it who gave me a new shiny one. This I installed using instructions to the letter and had no problems for about a week. Then the system managed to find a mind of its own and armed itself at about 5am one Wednesday morning. This then set off the siren ...
...to Micromark (although dont expect a great deal of response) and Argos explaining my predicament. I havnt decided what to do but it is more than likely it will go straight back. I would not recommend this as a purchase, its is fraught with flaws and bad design!! ... Read review

Achieving superior smoke detection sensitivity levels, the MCT-425 provides early warning of developing fire. When smoke is detected, the MCT-425 issues both sound and transmitted alarms. ...The first is in a BT box with fitting instructions, the second is in a Visonic box, this has 2 sets of instructions, 1 for connecting to their PowerMax panel and the second for fitting to the VP1000. They are the same unit, just boxed for BT. My second smoke detector arrived as Visonic boxed one with no instructions for the BT panel, but as it looked the same I just used the instructions from my original BT unit. When I decided to add another unit ... Read review
