Having recently bought a Gamecube I decided to go out and buy some games, one of which was Burnout, as I started it up with a fairly average loading time of about 5seconds I was already amazed by the graphics!!! So as most people would I went straight into the game.

Burnout is a fast paced, exciting feature rich game, but even that said and done it’s not as it could have been. Having recently bought a Gamecube I decided to go out and buy some games, one of which was Burnout, as I started it up with a fairly average loading time of about 5seconds I was already amazed by the graphics!!! So as most people would I went straight into the game.
Choose my car and its colour and straight away raced away, I COULDN’T CONTROL IT!!!! It’s insanely realistic, the only car racing game I can safely say I’ve played where the cars are driving on city streets and roads, with traffic coming at you…. With so many cars coming for me and swerving out of my way I decided to go for a few crashes :D (Don’t all lads?). Straight away I destroyed a lorry and two taxis both with instant replays and $50,000+ damage, after this I decided to drive like a Looney (as if I hadn’t started) going 125mph and swerving in and out of cars, lorry’s and buses with one goal in mind…. WINNING!!!
Your opponents are extremely tactful and seem to do absolutely anything to make sure you lose, but if you think as they do then you win almost every time!
Having won the race I was surprised to see a feature which allows you to replay all those delightful crashes, and save them!!!!! Anyway, moving on this game has a total of 6 cars, 1 Tow Truck, 1 pickup truck and 1 bus. Totaling 9 vehicles in total which to be pretty honest is poor for a racing game! Also Burnout has a fair few tracks but most of them all use the same scenery just different layouts, the various modes include:
Championship Mode Single Player Mode Head to Head mode Face off Survival Time Attack
Championship Mode allows you to unlock various extra’s like tracks and cars, it also gives you the chance to race in various championships funnily enough….
Single player mode is just basically racing 1-4 computer vehicles, on a track of your choice with no bonus’s.
Head to head mode allows you to race against you friends plus to extra computer controlled cars, on a track of your choice. Again with no bonus’s.
Face off is a mode where you race one other car which if you defeat you then win.
Survival mode you have to race around the track of your choice insuring that you don’t hit anything!!!
And Time attack is pretty self explantitory. I think this game does superbly in game play and graphics but could do a little better in car’s and tracks I dislike that you only have a limited amount of cars and that you can’t fiddle with their suspension etc, I also dislike that the developers Activision haven’t gone to the trouble of adding new tracks, instead they’ve just rearranged the originals.
I’ve found this game fairly easy but very enjoyable to play, definitely a good buy for only about £25 second hand, taking up 15 memory card blocks is a bit of a memory hogger, but I’m not complaining
Advantages: Great graphics, frame rate and sound Disadvantages: Not enough car choice or track choice
I couldn't buy a GameCube on launch day as I was out of the country on holiday. When I returned I had to search high and low to actually find a shop with one left. I didn't think much to the packages on offer so I bought 3 games separately.
I had high hopes for this game - I had played it in the US on holiday and was very impressed - I just hoped the PAL game could match it.
Graphics: The frame rate is very fast, it looks just like an actual arcade ... ...cars including a pick-up truck, a Mercedes lookalike and a small hatchback lookalike. The detail of the vehicles is good and when you are playing, the relection graphics on the vehicle bodies is superb. You get to race through one of three locations and although there are plenty of other vehicles around, you get to try to beat 3 other vehicles. There is no sign of any jerkiness or slowdown in the graphics and the whole thing is a dream to watch.

Advantages: Great crash scenes Disadvantages: Time limit gets very annoying
Burnout is essentially a fast racing game on GameCube and PS2 made by Aklaim and developed by Criterion and RenderWare. (A new edition- Burnout II- has recently come out and I am hoping for it for Christmas.)
There are 14 manic tracks to drive, which can be unlocked in Championship. You can drive in Europe or USA along dusty mountains like a rally driver, or cut cars up like a murderous drunk. There are cars loads of cars to choose from. There are ... ...Burnout is a great game with superb crash scenes and cool cars. I recommend this game to anyone who likes high-speed, high-drama car chases and finales. Don’t spend more than £20 on this game and you could buy it pre-owned for around £13. Definitely 5 star…thank you Aklaim, Criterion and RenderWare! ...

Advantages: Great Graphics, Easy to get into, Fast, Fun! Quick-ish load times.and long Disadvantages: Can be frustrating ocasionally
Burnout for the gamecube was the first game i purchased, that was a few months back and im still playing it today. Burnout is a driving game aimed at the arcade fans. You are up against the clock every race, fail to get to the checkpoint in time and your out. And to make things worse your up against lots of traffic. Both of these points make the game so much fun, your constantly weaving through traffic in an effort to make the next checkpoint.
Burnout ... ...Replay Each - 12
My recommendation: If your looking for a great driving game with a decent multiplayer experience look no further than burnout on gamecube. Just be patient with the cpu controlled cars. ...

Advantages: High speed crashing, High speed Crashing and oh did I mention the high speed crashing! Disadvantages: no explosions or bodies
Not being a fan of racing games per se, I have to say I approached this game with some trepidation, as the majority of titles in this Genre I have found fine for a little while, then they just become boring, race around a track, press the brake, press the accelerator, overtake some cars, ya-da ya-da etc.
So, after a brief visit to my local branch of Gamestation, i shelled out my £32 (Gamestation are an excellent source of games, with substantial ... ...card - I highly recommend them !)and oh boy was I surpised when I played this, after a brief training session, you get to pick a track and crash your car in the most spectacular way possible, just watching the replays is pure entertainment, so much so that you want to keep on crashing, not to get your compensation claim up, just to see how many more cars, buses, lorries etc you can include in your multiple pile-up, and thats just the crashing option. ...

...courteous to your fellow driver?...well...in BURNOUT forgot everything your driving instructor taught you! Yes forget it, becasue here you will be driving like a crazed loon!!! at incredible speeds dogding through the everyday traffic with your heart in your mouth and sweating like a waterfall!!!
Burnout is arcade style handling so anyone can just pick this up and start driving like mad without needing to learn complicated controls.
You wont want ... ...to total your car!!!!
Burnout is a higly enjoyable arcade racer with crazy tracks that go through rural highways speeding through everyday traffic trying not to crash and make it to the finish line FIRST!..or...is it the other way around trying to crash?
However you want to play this game..the fact is simple its a must have for you collection!!!..it is freaking ace!!! ...

INTRODUCTION
I have had a Nintendo Gamecube for around a year now. The very first game I ever bought for it, was this one 'Burnout 2 - Point of Impact'. I went for this for a couple of reasons. The first being that I love sport video games, especially racing. I had also played the original Burnoutgame on my friends Gamecube, so I knew that this game was likely to be very good.
OVERVIEW
This game is fairly challenging and it took me about 3 weeks to fully complete it. I was hooked on it from the moment I first played the game. It was exciting and very realistic and it also made me want to keep playing it until it was complete. I still have a lot of fun, despite there not being any more challenges left to complete. It is probably my ...
Advantages: Intensive crashes, intense speed, cool cars it's got it all!! Disadvantages: None, although not for people who like the "normal" racing games
Burnout... who has played the original Burnout? well this game is so unlike the original game it's untrue.
Burnout 2: Point of Impact takes place in the USA and is actually one of the most intense games that I have ever played on the Gamecube.
Ride at speeds over 100mph (on the later cars) and plunge head first into a crash, then watch the debris fly.
Drive dangerously to earn boosts to exceed the normal limits of the car and the road.
Drift around sharp corners to get past your rivals, and endanger your passengers in the process. This game has it all!
With a Persuit and a Crash for Cash mode this game is perhaps the most intense driving game in the world!!!
Those who like NFS Underground and Underground 2 should like to play this game as the basic principles are all there, including the drifts.
Ok, now then, from ...
