London's Burning is one of ITV's most popular and enduring series. As old favourites have left the show (usually through a dramatic death) new characters have soon become favourites. Set in London, the programme is based on the lives of the fire-fighters working in Blackwall Fire Station and their "shouts" ie all the fires and accidents that they attend. This hour long programme is always dramatic, funny and true to life. Real firemen that I know have commented that it more realistic than most drama programmes on the TV such as The Bill. The only surviving member of the cast from the first episode is Glen Murphy who plays George Green, a recently divorced father of 2 who is an amateur boxer. Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location Disadvantages: Views from room
eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed.
