Whatever the weather I always feel the need for applying lip balm. My lips don’t like the heat or the cold, and they don’t react very well when I am feeling under the weather or run down either.
My lip balm of choice for the last couple of months has been the pomegranate variety from Burts Bees. I bought mine for around the £3 mark from Amazon. This is perhaps more than I would normally pay for a lip balm, but I had heard good things about this product and wanted to try it for myself. Plus I liked the fact that it contains all natural ingredients, and didn’t contain mint for a change.
To apply, the tube only needs to be rotated up a small amount. It’s a solid stick with not a lot of give in it even in warmer temperatures I have realised. Some lip balms almost melt when they come into contact with heat but this one stays very solid. I think this has attributed to the fact that it’s lasted me so long as well which makes it better value for money compared to others.
I found the lip balm glides over my lips when I apply. I don’t get left with a thick feeling of grease or a heavy layer being left on my lips. The first couple of applications I didn’t manage to resist licking my lips just to test out any flavour this lip balm may be carrying. There is a subtle fruity flavour within the lip balm but nothing over powering or very amazing.I found the application to last about an hour before I felt the need to re-apply. I didn’t think my lips were dry but as it’s such a solid stick I think a thin layer is applied during the application anyway so this contributes to the balm not lasting very long. My lips still felt soft however.
During times my lips were seriously dry and cracked, I found this lip balm to work averagely ok compared to others I have used. It didn’t provide me with any miracles, but it did go a long way to helping provide relief for my poor dry lips.Overall I think this is a nice lip balm to have, and it’s lasted me well for the price.
