Bush televisions, from portables to widescreens. I will talk about the widescreen but this report really relates to all of them!

Why are they so cheap? Because they are made all over and have different components from model to model. The bulk are made in cheap labour countries such as China and the like. This allows them to be sold at bargain basement prices.

Advantages: 1/ most people can afford a bush tv.
2/ bush tv's can be considered as a disposable product
3/ The designs are reasonable
4/ The picture quality is not brilliant but is acceptable
5/ Controls are basic
6/ The tv's are easy to operate

Disadvantages: 1/ They are basic
2/ The sound quality is poor compared to other tv's
3/ Expensive, if not impossible to repair
4/ Many universal remote controls will not work with the cheaper bush tv's unless they are sent away to get specifically callibrated (at a cost)
5/ They deteriorate in picture and sound quality faster than many other makes

Overall view: Buy for use as a bedroom or kids tv, but not to use as main tv. Ideal as a cheap second tv.

I agree, but one point though - I can get my universal controller to work with my portable bush TV, so maybe it's only a few that have this problem. Good to-the-point opinion though :-)
