Bush BTL411BR 4 Slice S/S

Advantages: Simple controls, easy enough to use, toasts 4 slices in one go!
Disadvantages: Struggles on home baked bread, body doesn't always stay cool in use, availability

...Kenwood; there's a name I haven't seen for a long time. I used to have a Hi fi unit with the name of Kenwood and although it wasn't the best it took me a few years to realise that the company who make kitchen appliances and Hi Fi's are not the same people! Doh! Well its harmless enough mistake to make given that the look of each brand emblem is virtually the same. These days however I have moved onto better things and replaced my old Hi Fi with an all in one unit, half the size and twice the amount of features. The same goes with my toaster. Having had a few cheapie brand names over the years such as Hinari, Bush and JMB from then, Index catalogue stores (bought over by Argos) and another similar toaster from Poundstretcher, one day my cheapie toaster no longer toasted. ...cable. Now we are quite lucky in that where it actually sits, we need the whole length to get to the wall socket. This machine is a permanent fixture on our worktop because it gets used at least 4 or 5 times a week and it sits nicely beside the toaster and kettle, but I could see this being a problem for anyone who only uses it occasionally or doesn't have the room to have it set out all the time. The second thing that could have been made better is that the plates are only 4 x 5 inches in size and a lot of bread slices are much bigger than that meaning you have to cut crusts off to get them to fit in properly. Apart from those things though, the machine works well and does everything it is supposed to. Remembering to put the buttered side of the bread against the plates is something that might take a bit of getting used... Read review

Advantages: looks good, quick
Disadvantages: low water capacity

...Having recently just purchased this Bush kettle I must say I really love it. I really like the look. It has a clear glass bowl for the water so you can watch the water boil (f you wish!!) . The heating element is hidden away so keeping the asthetics nice and tidy. It also comes with it's own Anticalc filter thus stopping limescale from entering your beverages! The plastic base,handle and lid is in grey and black colours. There is also a red L.E.D to show the kettle is in operation. Of course having a wattage from 2750 - 3000 it is also pretty quick at boiling. I spot two flaws though, it only has a 1.4 litre capacity and this is just a personal thing but you have to take the lid off to fill kettle.... Read review
