We bought this carrier after trying my brother-in-law's carrier (he has three children so has plenty of experience!). The padding and strapping is designed to provide lumbar support and definitely works as we carry our daughter everywhere and have never had any back aches. She much prefers being in the carrier to the pushchair as she can see people's faces rather than their knees!
The carrier has straps at the waist and back which can easily be adjusted to suit people of all sizes. If you feel as though it's pulling at your neck then simply reach behind and pull on the back straps. (Easier than it sounds). You can also adjust some straps at the front to decide how close you want the baby to you.
I've never had any problems taking this carrier on or off and Mair always looks very comfortable in it. She faced inwards for the first 3 months but now faces outwards. The maximum weight for this carrier is 9kg and she is now 8kg. It is still very comfortable and I will really miss it when she is too big for it.
The whole thing can go through the washing machine if you need to clean it.
The only disadvantage is the rain cover but I don't think any carriers of this type have a good rain cover. The cover is a piece of waterproof material which is attached inside the carrier's front pocket and you use velcro to secure the other end to the shoulder straps. It covers the baby's head very well when the baby is facing inwards but if I tried to use it when she faces outwards, she wouldn't like her face being covered up.
If you want to try before you buy then Bushbaby can be difficult to find in High St stores. I have recently seen Bushbaby products in John Lewis, Mothercare and Boots but you'll need to go to big stores. However, there are plenty of web sites that sell these carriers online and you should be able to get one for £40 to £45.
