I have had one previous experience of owning a Bush TV and that was disappointing. So disappointing that I returned it to the store where I bought it within days, because it went “bang” and didn’t even work badly any more. I got a refund.

Advantages: Good picture & sound, easy to use controls. Disadvantages: Takes a few seconds to "warm-up".

So if it hadn’t been for using this model in the holiday home, I probably would have been too prejudiced against Bush to consider it.
** The Good Points **
It was easy to set ... ...The speakers on both sides of the screen produce good quality sound. Although it is advertised as a mono TV, the fact that the sound comes from two different speakers, especially helps the 2 members of my family with mild hearing problems appreciate it.
The top of the TV is designed to have a free view box on top of it.
The remote control is easy to use, and we got used to it quicker than usual.
I am a bit of a technophobe, but thought I would write about our TV DVD combi, in the only way I now how, simply. Hopefully it will help other non-technical people out there.
Our portable TV was having intermittent faults, and my family were complaining that it was so ancient that it didn’t even have a socket to plug in a free-view box. They also wanted a DVD player included in any new model that was bought.
Having a portable TV in good working order does reduce the amount of squabbles about what programmes to watch, so I decided to have a look around for the best value for money one for us.
I was strongly influenced by a TV DVD combi we had use of when we went on holiday, and after trying to find better value for money alternatives, I was drawn back to this model.

Good picture quality.

Also the controls on the front of the TV are not hidden away, so it is easy to change settings when the control gets lost. Controls seem to disappear in our house, and then appear again when we tidy up.
** The Bad Point **
The only bad thing about it, is that it takes a few seconds to warm up, which led some members of my family to become impatient, and think that maybe it isn’t working. By the time they called for help, both the picture and sound were working fine, and they soon got used to this minor irritation.
You don’t need me to give you all the technical details, which I don’t understand anyway, as Ciao have given these above. As they have not given you a picture I will upload one. The TV DVD is silver and the black thing on top is our set box top.
** Compatibility **
We are using this with a Phillips DTR210/05 Set Top Box, plus One For All 2 Way Set Booster and they work well together.
** Prices **
As with most electronics, it usually pays to shop around. Expect to pay about £100, and it you find it cheaper be pleased. Amazon are currently selling it for £93.49.
** Recommendation **
I often don’t understand the technical jargon given out by manufacturers. What I wanted was a good value for money, reliable TV DVD combi, with good picture and sound quality, that is easy to use. That is exactly what I believe I have got.
I am pleased with the choice made, about a year ago now, and would recommend it to others wanting a 15 inch TV DVD combi.

Quick review of Bush DVD154TV
I've had this model for about a year & have a couple of issues with it...
1. the remote doesn't always work & you have to press the buttons hard several times to get a response.
2. it has recently started switching itself off for a few seconds then back on, usually at crucial moments of a programme.
previously I had an old bush & it worked for many years without fuss but I would give this one a miss. ...
