I thought the other day, Claires_Cult can vouch for this, that I needed a DVD player. I needed one so bad that I had to go and buy the first one I saw. But as, I am under the thumb, the wife suggested I looked around.
So I did. I first went to the “power house” on the team valley trading estate in Gateshead. They were selling a Bush DVD for £89. ... ...co-op. I spotted, a Bush DVD, but for only £79. Whereas the first one was bulky, this was slim line. To my delight it was the DVD2023.
So I decided to buy it. It turned out to be the best buy of my life. I have always wanted a DVD. I was amazed, I tell you, of the picture quality. I am never going to buy a vhs video again (unless I need to record something from the telly).
WOW WOW WOW. That’s about all I can say about the Bush DVD 2023 “the digital versatile disc player”.

So I did. I first went to the “power house” on the team valley trading estate in Gateshead. They were selling a Bush DVD for £89. It was gorgeous. Chrome all around it, so much so you could see you face in it. I thought and I thought and decided I was going to buy it.
Until me and the wife (her indoors) were doing our weekly shop in the local co-op. I spotted, a Bush DVD, but for only £79. Whereas the first one was bulky, this was slim line. To my delight it was the DVD2023.

Down to specifics.
The machine can play:
DVDs CDs MP3s CD-Rs and CD-RWs
Instructions are provided as with any electrical appliance along with batteries for the remote control.
As I said, it is a slim line machine, fully remote control and silver. It is easy to set up. All you do is plug it in and play so to speak.
The on-screen display is displayed along the top of the TV screen when certain functions are used or when the OSD (on screen display button is pressed)
It tells you the disc type (in case you have forgotten), the current total titles on the disc, the number of chapters on the disc and the playback time.
TUNING IN
Before you set it up, however, you do need to consult your TV instruction manual in order to tune you TV into the DVD.
PLAYBACK
From a standby mode you need to press the standby/on button on the front of the unit or stand by on the remote control.
With the no disc in place and the DVD drawer closed, the DVD panel will display “no disc” and the television on screen will display a circle with a line through it.
You need to press the OPEN button on the front unit to open the DVD drawer.
Put the disc in the DVD, just like a cd player. Simple as that. You can convert widescreen films into full screen pictures at the touch of a button. Zoom in and out on the film to get close ups. Where’s that Kylie Minogue DVD.

My DVD is now also connected to my HI-FI as is my video machine. With the massive speakers I have in my living room, it makes one hell of a sound.
In my view, I did not want to buy a really expensive machine, why should I. This one does just as good. My only grumble is trying to get the DVD plug through the small hole at the back of the TV unit, along with the cost of DVD films. Wish they would come down in price.
Advantages: Cheap, easy to use Disadvantages: high piched noise when turned off
...the TV and displays the Bush screen saver or menu of the DVD you have put in to play.
With the silver casing, this DVD player is modern and fits in with most decor.
The remote and functions are easy to understand and use. You have all the standard features, such as repeat, mute, skip backwards or forwards, play, stop, pause, etc with loads of other stuff.
You can zoom in on the screen on three levels, allowing you to see the details more easier. ... ...view scenes from different angles, making the film even more interesting. Play back is another option, so you can re watch a scene or even the whole film in slow motion, why you would want to do this I dont know, but the option is there if you want it.
The DVD player can also be used as a CD player and is compatible with most disks, so there is no worry that the film or music you buy will not work on you system.
Another excellent feature of this ...

Advantages: Cheap, unbreakable, looks great! Disadvantages: are there any?
...a very high opinion of Bush products but put it through its paces anyway and thought someone had muddled the nameup... was this not a Sony?
The picture quality is excellent with a function to swop widescreen movies to normal screen size.
As well as DVD's the 2023 will happily accomodate CD's, MP3's, CD-R's and CD-RW's with the same simplicity as it takes to read the DVD...just put in the disc and it automatically selects the correct format to play!
... ...easy to follow, just plug it in and go!
The provided remote control is just as self explanatory and even comes complete with batteries!
It had a digital display to let you know what format its playing and time counter so you know where you are with things.
Can be left on standby to save power and copes extremely well with being left on for hours and hours at a time (kids and Nemo!)
The DVD2023 is very versatile and can be used with a scart or ...
