We bought this TV because our old 28 inch TV took up too much space. We wanted something that would look modern and wouldn't become the focal point of the living room. We love films and computer games and so we also wanted something that would make our movie nights more of an event.
We didn't think we could afford an LCD TV but we went shopping around for one nonetheless with an extremely tight budget. We looked at a few and thought we had found one we liked (a Samsung - apologies I have forgotten the model) until my fiance saw this this fellow. It was modern, it could be wall mounted, and if it was on a stand it didn't take up much room at all. Compared to other TVs in our budget it had 2 stand-out bonuses - 2 Scart sockets
and even more impressively an HDMI socket.
We got it home and threw everything we could think of through it. Analogue TV, Digital TV, Games Systems, DVDs, Videos and our PC.
It handles Digital TV fairly well. If you are up-close then the picture suffers and appears really pixelated but as you step back further the picture becomes a lot clearer. If you watch a lot of TV then it would be worth spending more on a TV with a better pixel ratio and contrast ratio - but we didn't buy the TV for watching programs. It was bought with DVDs and games consoles in mind.
Don't let the low TV picture quality or low contrast ratio put you off!!! The TV picture is absolutely watchable unless your chairs and sofas are less than 5-6 feet away. I recommend sit at least 6 feet away. We have this TV in a room roughly 12x18 feet - with the closet chair roughly 7.5-8 feet away and the picture is fine enough for us when we are rarely watching TV.
Anyway - to films and consoles! As soon as this TV is plugged into a DVD player or games console you start to think...wait a minute, did they sell me the wrong TV? Surely with picture quality this good it should be worth more than £360!?!
The DVD quality is superb. Crystal clear picture and sound. As for games - even through the component socket, AV or Scart socket the picture is very sharp and very deep. The tiniest of details are picked up, blades of grass with lighting effects on them for example, lighting effects, sound effects, clarity of speech and music all combine to give us a dream TV for an unbelievable price. And when you connect through an HDMI cable that things start to look even prettier and sound even sharper!
I use my TV for Xbox 360 and DVD mostly and they work so well together!
For DVDs and Games - it doesn't matter how close you sit to the TV the picture quality is great. Obviously if you get within a daft distance the quality suffers but if you need to sit that close to a 32 inch TV then pay Optical Express a visit and try again! The only things I haven't tried are HD-DVD or Blue Ray...but I'm sure they will make me love my TV even more.
The TV is built in with about 4 or 5 pre-set contrast settings which you can flick through at any time. What you can do to improve/amend picture lighting/contrast/brightness etc is change the set up [as per all TVs]. I have done this and I now have one set up for watching football matches, one for playing games, one for watching movies.
The same goes for the sound - there are presets but you can change the parameters so you can get it just how you want it! We bought a budget surround system to go with it. We don't use the small surround speakers anymore, we've found its better to utilise the TV's built in speakers and connect the bass box from our surround system to the TV, enhancing the body and volume of the sound. Giving a more evenly distributed and more sonically pleasing experience.

Then why 4 stars? Because for the amount this TV can do it costs absolutely nothing and it is absolutely perfect for us.
But why 4 and not 5 stars? Because most people buy TVs to watch TV - unlike us. This TV lags in the TV channel department. The picture isn't as crisp as many TVs out there for a little more money.
