I hate Bush!

Advantages: Internet option could have been a good point.
Disadvantages: Gimmicky, poorly designed, heavy.

We purchased the Bush Internet Portable Television two years ago for the meagre sum of £99. We were only after a portable TV for the bedroom at the time but this was in the same price range as other models with the added feature of Internet access so as that rather irritating advert says, "Why pay the same for less?"

The Bush Internet TV in packaged in a worryingly heavy box, dragging the television out of its annoying polystyrene ...
...is obviously a "universal" to Bush televisions remote. I can only presume the keys are designed for fast text but since my television does not even have text they are largely made redundant. The keys are soft rubber and as such can be unresponsive without some definite pressing especially the volume and channel up/down keys. However, due to the oversized nature of the remote I would suggest this is ideal for the uncoordinated, partially ... more

Quick review of Bush Internet Tv

Not only is the tv set cumbersome, the internet doesn't work. They recently re-formated their email system which no longer accepts emails to send, although they can still be received. DO NOT purchase this system if you want reliability because their emails are frequently down and if you want to complain it will cost you one pound a minute to phone them to do so. Most unreliable outfit altogether. ...

Online without a PC

Advantages: Cheap no ISP needed
Disadvantages: Limited capability sometimes v. slow

...one! Instead I bought a Bush internet tv which although I now have a computer as well is still working well. As you've probably gathered from the name this is a TV with a built-in browser. There are 3 screen sizes 14", 21"&28". There can be a problem with the print being difficult to read on the 14" portable. Alternatively instead of buying a TV you can buy a settop box to plug into your tv. All models come with a combined remote control/qwerty ...
...or ciao opinions then invest in the optional larger keyboard. Refinements to the system mean that pages now load far quicker than when I first got it but don't expect miracles! It has a built in search facility(Google) and reliable though basic email. Because it is only a browser it is unable to do many of the things standard on a pc. So you cannot attach anything to an email etc, open some attachments, download, store information and also the browser ...

Low cost internet made easy

Advantages: compact-Just plugs straight into your TV
Disadvantages: very basic-not Java enabled

I purchased a Bush Internet set top box when I found that anothe r form of "no pc" internet surfing was costing me too much. The set top box is very simple to use. You simply connect it to your Tva dn phoneline and follow a simple on-screen registration process. When you sign uo you are given a bushinternet email address. There is the option of having 5 addresses per bush internet customer. The internet runs at local rate, which means that it is ...
...things down considerably. The Bush internet does show pictures, but cannot show all. There are also times when filling in online forms using Bush Internet become difficult, as they become jumbled because of there being no Java enabled script. I would reccomend this product to anyone who just wants basic low cost internet, without the hassle of an ISP and finding room for a pc. ...

Bush Portable Internet TV

Advantages: Stylish, cheap, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Not too clear on portable version, can't download video images

I didn't specifically set out to purchase an internet tv but this particular television looked very stylish and caught my eye straight away although the remote control is large and bulky as it incorporates a keyboard under a flap. The cost was £80 from Curry's in the sale and this was another factor in my decision, it was actually cheaper than the other portable televisions in the store. The television is very easy to set up. It automatically searches for television stations and everything needed is included in the box, including telephone extension line and batteries for the remote control. I did however, have to purchase another telephone cable as the one supplied isn't really long enough for where I wished to place the tv. You have to either use Bush's own home page or Freeserve. I already have a Freeserve account but wasn ...

Internet on your TV

Advantages: Plug and surf
Disadvantages: Limited uses

It has finally arrived - a system where you can surf the net from your tv instead of having to sit in front of a computer. In principle this sounds a good idea but there are problems with this... You can buy the set-top box for £99.99 but you just get a midi sized keyboard which can be a bit fiddly. If you are feeling flush and want a tidier looking system you can get an integrated tv with combined tv remote/keyboard for £199.99 If you're not happy with the keyboard there is a full-sized one available for a further £34.99 then if you want a printer it's an extra £69.99 Oh and remember the cost of the internet. there is "free" access, but because you are signed-up to an ISP as part of the package you have to pay your phone calls at local rate. It's preset so you can't change the provider as and when you want. Remember ...

internet or television you decide

Advantages: screen size, internet and tv combo
Disadvantages: none

The bush Internet television is the best thing since sliced bread (well nearly). It can switch between the Internet or normal television at the press of a button. The bush Internet television comes with a remote control, which has a built in keypad (which is one of the coolest things ever). It comes in a variety of sizes from a portable to 24 or 28 inch screen. It comes with a instruction manual which is the dad of all instruction manuals, it tells you about the product and it also gives detailed information of the use of both normal television viewing and internet usage. It comes in millennium silver and also black, grey and the usual television colours. It has self-programming and it has a very good picture and reception. You also have the option to re-name the channels what you want. ...
