Advantages: Portable Disadvantages: Short Battery Life
...I got this as a present for christmas. It is goon in that it is portable and recieved DAB radio. However the battery life while using DAB is not very long. Id say 10 - 20 hours at most.
There is a mains connection, but it was bourght for me to use in the garage where there is no mains electric and rechargable batteries in the size it takes are very expensive, around half the price of the radio.
When the batteries go to a point where DAB stops working, analogue radio still works if you switch over to that for several more hours, but that isnt what it was intended for!
Maybe all battery DAB radios eat batteries like this one, but if i were you id stick to mains power or use a smaller headphone portable radio.
A few more details: there is a back lit LCD screen which shows the station name and time. The analogue radio is tuned...

Advantages: Looks nice, good sound quality. Disadvantages: Eats batteries for breakfast, design flaws.
...The BushTR2003 is described in the manual as having the following specifications-
10 FM station presets and 10 DAB favourites presets.
2 line LCD integrated icon display.
DAB autotune for full list of available stations.
Auto time update function via DAB.
2 x 1.5W RMS stereo output.
Bass boost and electronic volume control.
Carry handle.
360 degrees telescopic antenna.
3.5mm headphone socket.
Mains or battery operated (6 x C type batteries - not included).
The TR2003 is a rather asthetically pleasing product. It has a 'classic' look and is sleek and stylish.
It runs off either 6 C batteries or mains but I would recommend against using batteries as their life seems very short in this radio.
As with most digital radios the TR2003 has a small LCD screen which displays the name of the station you are tuning...

...Background
I have enjoyed DAB digital radio for sometime after being treated to a Pure Evoke1 for a Christmas present. A radio I am delighted with, but unfortunately, although its light and portable it relies on the mains supply to work.
Here in Kent where I live a new Multiplex is currently being launched so I decided that I would now like a DAB radio that was a bit more portable having a battery provision
The Contenders
As some of you will know if you read my first review, I bought an Acoustic Solutions Portal 2 DAB/FM radio from Argos. This radio was great value at only £69.99 at the moment. Unfortunately this proved to be quite deaf and flatly refused to receive stations that my nearby Evoke1 radio would happily receive.
So it was back to Argos for a refund.
The nearest contender was the BushTR2003 DAB built in a retro style...

~ A Sandwich Press ~
There I was, making a toasted cheese sandwich in my 10-year-old toasted sandwich maker, when I went to take it out.
Unfortunately it was stuck everywhere! It was a right mess, and even careful attempts to get it out without it... more
