BA (hons) Leisure Marketing

Advantages: Good range of subjects covered
Disadvantages: The title doesn't really do the course justice.

...is: - I started Leisure Marketing at Bournemouth University in October 2001 and graduated in June 2005. I wanted to do a marketing based course and after a lot of research I decided Bournemouth was definitely the place to be. I have to admit that my first choice of course was Advertising and Marketing but unfortunately I didn't get the grades to attend that course. Leisure Marketing was fairly new at the time but had a good reputation and the job ...
...year that was required from leisure Marketing, and I wondered whether a placement year was actually the right thing for me after gearing myself up to do a purely academic 3 year course. However, as it turns out this was the best decision i could have made because finishing uni with a degree and 1 years work experience was a great advantage when looking for a job. Year 1 In my opinion this year was pretty easy. The work load was fairly low and the ...

...EARN LOADS OF MONEY! Yey! Advertising and marketing is an incredibly lucrative industry to work in. In the highly paid jobs it is essential to have gained plenty of work experience and have an indepth understanding of the industry. The course is relatively small in numbers (my year consists of 70 students) therefore you can be ensured of the best quality teaching. The course is in popular demand so expect to have to gain around 3Bs to be accepted. ...
...an incredibly specialised degree. Advertising and Marketing Communications BA (Hons) is a three year degree with a 6 week professional placement. I've just completed my second year and I feel like I've learnt a great deal. The subjects you learn on this course can be used in everyday life, the skills are transferable (very important point in today's Society!) Each year of the course consists of studying 6 units (in the final year the dissertation ...

...year doing this course in Advertising and Marketing. At the moment I am really enjoying it, even though there is quite a lot of work. I am assured it only gets harder - so I have a lot to look forward to!! There are a number of different interesting modules (and a few less interesting ones)! This year I am doing the compulsary modules: Advertising principles and practice, Marketing principles and practice, Media, Business context, Consumer behaviour ...
