I have only ever used Business Post parcel services and UK Today so they are the only ones i can review.

To arrange for Business Post to come in is pretty simple. You call the sales number 08451 552 552, and they will arrange for you to be put through to the depot nearest to you. They do accept credit cards but most business they do is through accounts. Once you have an account set up with them (which is pretty simple, just fill in and sign a form and they do the rest of the work) you can also arrange collections on-line at www.business-post.com. ...

Advantages: None! Disadvantages: Poor customer service - poor service in general - Depot is miles away from anywhere
Business post are easily the worst courier 'service' I have had the misforture of being forced to deal with.
I have (or rather I havenot ) recently had 2 separate deliveries through business post. The first failed because the driver of the van never left any failed delivery cards so by the time I rang the suppiler the order had been sent back to them.
The second failure was an order for alloy wheels - This time I did receive the card stating the ... ...the wrong section of the slip so I had to go on the internet to find a number to call to arrange collection of the delivery.
Upon phoning the main office I spoke to a member of staff who stated the address of the depot (over 25 miles away from me) and that the order could be collected between 6:30 and 8:00pm. I drove all the way to the deopt to be advised in the most care free manor that I would have to wait for the staff there to finish loading/unloading ...

...items for presents I called Business Post and arranged delivery for Friday and again left instructions for the parcel to be left over the fence. When I returned from work on the Friday there was no parcel and no failed delivery card meaning they hadn't even attempted to deliver! I called and complianed and was told the item would be delivered over the weekend and definetly by Christmas Eve.... it was no surprise that on returning home on Christmas ... ...Business 6 times now and they have failed to delivery a parcel on 4 'promised consignments', one of the sales girls even read the message that reads 'delivery Fri 21st Dec if not in leave over fence' to me. I have asked BP why, as a courier company, they are unable to deliver a parcel to an address less then 10 miles from their main depot. Thier response is that they dont have any drivers in this area. I recently had the misfortune of using their service.
I used their 24 hour service to send a package from London to Manchester. I called them beforehand to confirm the service that they provide. I placed an order with them.
The service clearly stated a 24 hour service. They arrived 2 days after i placed my order. (This was supposed to be a 24 hour service!)
They eventually turned up and then gave them ... ...turned up.
I called business post and they said they have to rebook the delivery, which was very annoying as it now was 9 days since i placed the order.
They did rebook and finally deliverd the package a ful 11 days after i placed the order by telephone.
This must be one of the worst couriers in terms if reliablity and customer service
Avoid this company at all costs and i would advise businesses as well as consumers to not use them.

...sent me a parcel via Business Post. Admittedly, he forgot that I'd moved and sent it to the old address, but as they forward things this wan't a problem.
The problem?
Business Post *apparently* tried 3 times to gain access (yeah, right - they're students, and always in). They then phoned my father, got the new address and eventually appeared (about a month later, not next day) on my doorstep. With a crushed parcel.
"I think this is broken," I ... ...head office was TERRIBLE. They really couldn't care. Not a good way to build customer relations.
So don't use them. Other people have had similar experiences, and I now have a mental blacklist of companies not to use, headed by (you guessed it) - Business Post. ...
