"Water? He's reviewing water? What a nelly!" Yes yes, I know it's what you're all thinking...but this is not just any old water. To the untrained eye it could easily be mistaken for 'any old water' but, being an expert in my field, I know about these things. This is Buxton Natural Mineral Water.
So why am I reviewing something like this? Have I gone completely barmy, that I want to tell you about water? No - I want to make you aware of what you could have to buy if you get caught thirsty in the middle of town without your handy thermos flask. The fact that water flows free in streams, rivers and oceans all over the world is not of any significance to these penny-pinching companies. They will make you pay your hard-earned cash for a few gulps of water. Is it worth it? Read on! PACKAGING: The water comes in a
plastic bottle. The size of the bottle depends on the quantity of water you want. I'm going to review the 50cl bottle, because that's the one I've got.
• The plastic is quite sturdy, so won't get punctured or split whilst your drinking. • On the top is a blue bottle cap, which can come in useful when you're not so thirsty that you want to drink it all. Just pop the top back on, and you can save it. • The bottle is about 24cm high and about 7cm in diameter. • The label is attractive, showing some grassy hills with a stream flowing through. The name 'Buxton' is directly above this. • Being predominantly white, the label is clear with the black text showing up so it’s easy to read. • The label also shows what they call an 'Official Analysis', detailing the contents of their so-called water. Can it still be water with a load of other stuff in? I wonder. Official Analysis comprises of: Calcium Magnesium Potassium Sodium Bicarbonate Chloride Sulphate Nitrate Iron Aluminium Dry Residue at 180ºC
PRICE: Not cheap, for my 50cl bottle I was charged 99p at WHSmiths. Prices do vary considerably at different places – for example, the train station would be more expensive than a burger bar. Larger bottles tend to increase less, with the 100cl bottle at £1.45. Though the price may seem a bit much for some water, you try telling that to someone who’s gagging for a drink and red-hot. When I bought this, I would have done anything for a drink! Yes, anything! TASTE TEST: Though I normally only do this with food, I thought seeing as there are so many extra bits in the water, I would tell you if and what taste the ‘water’ has.
1) I unscrew the lid. 2) I have a sniff, but can’t smell anything 3) I take a sip…nope…tastes like normal water to me 4) …but what’s this? Aftertaste? Euch! 5) It tastes like…well I’m not sure what…but it’s not nice. 6) It’s making me need another sip. Is this what the companies want? Me to drink all my water, and become even more thirsty, so I end up buying another bottle to quench it? They are sly…very sly…but I’m too sly for them. Thankfully I have a glass of orange juice to hand, so I’m saved!
AVAILABILITY: I’ve seen this water at almost every corner shop I’ve been in. It’s by the cokes and the sprites, and is always nice and cool. You can also find the larger bottles at supermarkets all over the place. If you can’t find it, lucky you! You’re better off without! It’ll just make you thirstier! So to CONCLUDE, I suggest that whether you be desperate for a drink, a tad thirsty, or just want to look cool in front of your mates by drinking ‘Buxton Natural Mineral Water’, resist the urges! It will just make you even thirstier, and will cost you a fair bit in the process.
Though it may stop you passing out from dehydration, unless you are dying I would advise against buying this. Stick to good old tap water, or try a better alternative such as Volvic or Vittel. Thanks for reading, and I hope my humble review of H2O has been of use to you.

I used to get addicted to water... *twitch twitch...* SALT? In the water? That's outrageous. It's a conspiracy, they're going to dry us out and make us re-buy their products. Furious! :op Joe
