Buyology - Discount Stores

Many months ago I wrote a review on Buyology. I felt passionate about the company and the brand to give it my support. Since that time things have occured that mean I cannot give the same support. Poor treatment of staff meant that in less than 6 months nearly 200 staff left or were sacked from the business. While i'll never deny the quality of Buyology goods are far superior to similar style retaillers. The store sells everyday products to the consumer from food to furniture. I used to be passionate about tjis store, but a visit yesterday changed all that! Having built the store up from nothing, the owners of the company according to staff members blackmailed him out of the business. A fact that they were not happy with. They also tol;d me that loads of staff had been binned over the past couple of weeks not just in the Cheltenham store, but even in head office. On top of that there were animal traps of varying types all over the shop; to sell obviously. Including Mole killers, who in their right mind would want to kill a mole? I remember years ago, I must have been about 9 or 10 when I first stepped foot in Hyper Value, it was like the best car boot sale ever, they had absolutely everything. Every weekend when my parents took us grocery shopping we would pass by the store and me and my brothers would beg to go in to spend our pocket money, it was amazing what you could find in there for just a few quid, I think still have the collection of Littlest Pet Shop toys that I added to every week. Where to start . In Bridgend Hyper Value closed 2 days before xmas 06 first week of Jan 07 Buyology had opened. Saving the jobs of all the staff who would have been made redundant. The speed at which the shop filled with stock was amazing and any one who remembers how bare and empty hyper value had become would also be taken aback with this transformation. Like the Bridgewater store the staff at the Bridgend store are also very helpful and cheery and despite the vast array of items they have they all seem to know where things are. the manager of the shop called janet is very pleasant too ... more
