" Fingers on Buzzers"

The first thing that attracted me to this game whilst idly wasting away my lunch hour in town was the huge red buzzers the games come with. These are great fun are allow the feeling of actually being part of a game show.
I rushed back to the office and mailed everyone I new about the fab game and by the end of the day we had a copy.
I did actually have to take back the original game as the buzzers were not working. If all 4 buzzers do not light up when you plug them into the PS2, there is definitely something wrong and you must rush back to the shop before it close to get a new copy.

The best thing about this game just has to be the buzzers. This allows up to four players to play the game.
The button consists of 5 buttons. One huge red button for rounds in the game where you have to buzz in as quick as you can, and four coloured buttons for multiple choice rounds (think along the lines of the TV series "Who Wants to be a Millionaire")
Not only do you physically get your own buzzer to press but you actually get to chose the noise your buzzer makes. A whole range of sound effects, from animals to the Dixie horn can be chosen.

Not only can you pick your buzzer sound but you can also pick the character you want to appear as. Fancy, being a rock god, dance queen, hip master or diva? You got it. And each character has there own actions and phrases for when they get questions, right or wrong. Highly amusing.

The game is very cleverly done. You can pick music decades to answer questions on or answer questions through the ages. There is a host who asks the questions and as with all good game shows, there is a beautiful assistant. Her role is to tell you the rules of each round. She can be skipped once you know what you are doing. Although if one of you knows what you are doing - don't be cheeky and press that buzzer to skip when no one else knows what's going on!

There are loads of rounds to the game to be played, each with there own rules. New players can be added to the game until you have the maximum of four players at the start of each round. In general you hear pieces of music and answer questions on them. Points are gained for correct answers (and sometimes deducted for incorrect answers). These can be speed rounds where you buzz in as quick as you can to answer the question, multiple choice rounds, where you select using the coloured buttons your answer from a list, or rounds where you can nominate other players to answer questions. Particularly good if you think the other person wont have a clue what the answer is. My favourite round of all come right at the end where you can steal points off other players. This is especially good if you are lagging behind a very strong player (this frequently happens to me) as it is your chance to grab some of their valuable points off them and stop them winning. Even better if you can get another player on your side to also steal the leaders points. I am however guessing that for younger players this may cause some tantrums and tears.

The RRP is £39.99 but this product can be purchased cheaper from most online game stores such as Play.com, Amazon, DVd.co.uk. Our version was purchased for just £29.99 from our local Asda. If purchasing online or from a catalogue, ensure that you purchase the version which contains the buzzers as the game is available without.

This is a brilliant game and great for all the family. Another fantastic idea of interactive fun on the PS2. So Sony, get your skates on and bring out some more of these games. Fingers Crossed for Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
