A Special Special Edition CD Player.
Advantages: Fantastic sound. You'll never leave the room. Disadvantages: Fantastic sound - you'll never leave the room!
...remote control link to other Marantz Hi-Fi equipment you may have. (There's also a switch to set the remote control from external to internal...)
There is also a headphone jack on the front of the player.
Controls -
The front of the unit is cleanly designed, and very simple.
Besides Play, Pause and Stop, there are track skip forwards and backwards, and fast-forward and reverse. These are all separate buttons. No messing about pressing and holding ... ...are buttons marked 1-0 to allow you to type in a track number directly. No skipping tracks if there are a lot on the disc.
The player is programmable, so if you're taping things, you can program in which tracks from a disc to play back. Some other nice touches are a dimmer button, to dim the display on the unit - fine for a romantic night listening to some jazz - soft lighting will not be interrupted by a bright display! You can also make the player ...

PumP IT UP!!!
Advantages: Great sound quality Disadvantages: can be pricey
...My brother bought me the Marantz CD5001 from for around £230. When I found about the price I was shocked at how expensive it was.
The Marantz CD5001hifi is so value for money because; the quality of the sound that it projects is just so superb. The special features it has are:
* Solid metal front and rigid chassis construction with a silver finish, which I just love. * Quick Replay – So you can listen to your songs again with a fast replay.
* ... ...In the past, a Marantz budget CD player would have been an automatic class-leader. The company churned out a continuous stream of top-quality machines and dominated the sub-£ 500 arena. In the last few years, it hasn't been so successful, but the arrival of the CD5001 suggests the good times are set for a return for Marantz.
This is a player that has plenty of bite; don’t dismiss this player out of hand, though: it costs less money than its major ...

Marantz cd5400 experience uncovered
Advantages: Uncover brilliant level of detail solid build Disadvantages: Some features seem useless
...the motors go slugish the marantz cd5400 truly has a high quality build to it. If your a marantz fan then you should already have trust in what they can produce and to me the marantz cd5400 is the back bone to a nice high quality system. It is not the best cd player around but for the money I can gurantee you will find it very hard to fin a cd player more impressive then the marantz cd5400. When i first listened to my cd5400 i was that impressed ... ...go down stairs and steal my moms mozart collection just to see how great it was. The only draw backs to this cd player is as followed
When playing a copied cd on there you soon realise the difference in quality and not just for that but from one normal cd to another you can see a difference im not sure wether thats the cd players fault or who ever makes the cds but it can get anoying.
The other draw back is that there is a lot of buittons on the ...

One marvellous Marantz!!!
Advantages: Sound Disadvantages: None
...have opted for a used Marantz CD63 MkII KI Signature CD player to keep within my meagre buget of £200. What a difference from my previous model, an ancient, yet well regarded, Denon 1100 model: the sound of the Marantz is magical, most noticeable the width of the soundstage. Details are sharp and bass much more pronounced. I have noticed notes, sounds that I hadn't before. It is very musical in its output and together with my MF A1 amp I can understand ...

Arcam 192 CD player
Advantages: Natural and involving musical qualities. Disadvantages: The remote is not my favorite.
Bought one of these three years ago and loved it ever since. At £900 it wasn't cheap but has given a lot of musical pleasure.
Compared to my earlier Alpha 9 CD player which was a high achiever in its day the upsampling 192 appears to offer more low level detail making listening easier somehow. Bass goes deep, mid range seperates and layers superbly and the treble can be breathtakingly beautiful with the right recording. The yearning for my old vinyl ...
