The NAD CD Player is the one for you!
Advantages: Great device with inbuilt radio. Does the job efficiently Disadvantages: Small inbuilt memory capacity
The NAD CD Player should not be frowned at! With a price tag of around £160 and an attitude that says 'Use me', this device is one for the amateur to the professional music listener. The NAD comes complete with a full working order built in radio that connects digitally to your favourite stations. There is an MP3 Playback option that gives the user more freedom in concern with the more modern forms of media. It must be noted that the NAD houses an ... ...stored internally. This storage is limited however. Being an older model from 2007, its capacities and uses are withdrawn to that of similiar models , but if your wanting a reasonable CD player with several inept inbuilt functions and ease of use, this is the one for you.
You must also take into account that the CD Player is not shock proof, so if used, it is recommended to plug it into an anti-surge socket extension (for peace of mind). I hope ...

Nadc521bee
Advantages: the c521bee sounds great with all music theres plenty of warmth and scale the c521bee could shame players costing 3 times as much. Disadvantages: non for the price really
I recently purchased the nad c521bee cd player to replace my marantz. you will find them on line for about £170, i paid £199 for my example from a dealer but they did supply a blackrodium interconnect worth £30 so really you would be better off going to your dealer as they will give you a demo if you wish and will be available should things go wrong. Like most people im on a tight budget and can not afford the top end players but after listening ... ...bettered at this price. The nad sounds great with all types of music with plenty of detail, warmth and scale. The styling of the nad is'nt to everyones taste but in titanium it looks like it cost more than the asking price. The build quality is excellent at this price range and the c521bee also comes with a very good remote......If you are on a budget and want a quality player the nad is in a class of its own....... ...

NAD C540 24 bit C.D. Player
Advantages: Very revealing low cost c.d. player. For the money it's a steal. Disadvantages: doesn't like shody c.d.s so look after them, for programing tracks you need the optional remote.
I have owned this NAD C540 c.d. player for almost 10 years now and have to say I have been very happy with my choice. The c.d. player is feeding a decent Cambridge Audio pre/power amp system with two power amps feeding a pair of Mission floor standing speakers. It is a pretty revealing set up with good sound staging.
When I started using this c.d. player, replacing an old Technics c.d. player, the improvement was a revelation. I was suddenly able ... ...and the stereo imaging was superb! It never seemed to run out of steam either proving to be a joy to listen to.
Only crticism is it doesn't like scuffed or poor quality recorded discs and tends to jump with them.
For the money, buy with confidence!

One marvellous Marantz!!!
Advantages: Sound Disadvantages: None
...have opted for a used Marantz CD63 MkII KI Signature CD player to keep within my meagre buget of £200. What a difference from my previous model, an ancient, yet well regarded, Denon 1100 model: the sound of the Marantz is magical, most noticeable the width of the soundstage. Details are sharp and bass much more pronounced. I have noticed notes, sounds that I hadn't before. It is very musical in its output and together with my MF A1 amp I can understand ...

Arcam 192 CD player
Advantages: Natural and involving musical qualities. Disadvantages: The remote is not my favorite.
Bought one of these three years ago and loved it ever since. At £900 it wasn't cheap but has given a lot of musical pleasure.
Compared to my earlier Alpha 9 CD player which was a high achiever in its day the upsampling 192 appears to offer more low level detail making listening easier somehow. Bass goes deep, mid range seperates and layers superbly and the treble can be breathtakingly beautiful with the right recording. The yearning for my old vinyl ...
