Smooth player from Technics Advantages: Great sound, loads of features Disadvantages: May not be an advantage over SL PG490 This was the first separates CD player I have ever brought, and I was impressed. It's advantages over the '490 are small - it has quick access to tracks on the front panel, and contains a few editing features designed for use with a tape deck. However, I found an offer that made the 590 equal in price to the 490, so I thought, why not, I won't lose anything! I was impressed with the strong, powerful sound coming from this machine. Compared to my Sony Minidisc deck, it sounds stronger and fuller, if slightly on the warm and fuzzy side, but this can be changed with a few tweaks to the graphic equaliser on my amp. Brilliant, Long Lasting Entry Level CD Player Advantages: Reliable Sound Quality, Solid Construction, Optical Out, Remote Disadvantages: none come to mind ...The laser in these Technics players is brilliant and will also play cd's that have been lightly scratched on the surface which many other players have skipped on. Found one at last Advantages: Looks Good, Easy to use Disadvantages: None I can think of I'd been looking for a separate CD Deck, as wanted to get rid of the 'all in one' that I had. I looked around a few specialist shops, and online, and eventually came up with this one. I'd seen it in a shop, but was quite expensive, so i surfed a bit and got one cheaper online.
