As a 17 year old student i thought i'd give my opinion of these guides.

Personally i own quite a few, and i have found them useful.

They are humourous (kind of) and they have good diagrams, unfortunatly they aren't idiot proof, and you need to know your stuff before you can use them, which can cause a problem as most of the time, i don't have a clue about it, and so these guides arn't the best, i suppose they are good for revision but that's about it. Some revision guides will give you a more full explanation of things.

Also unfortunatly, these revision guides seem to support the dreadful (in my opinion) idea that instead of learning how things work, you can just remember it all, and then you'll be ok, which is true, but is not good in terms of last minuite revision, or for you're personal intelligance anyway, because you'll forget it all after the exam. However if you want to support this then go ahead because these guides are aimed at you mainly.

People moan a lot because of the bad jokes, and that they are therefore rubbish guides but this is a terrible attitude, you can always ignore the jokes, and in my opinion, they havn't sacraficed important information for the jokes, it just makes revision that bit more interesting. Personally i would read through this as you are going through the course, but if you are stuck last minuite, then also, you could read through one of these, as they are good at cramming information into small spaces, and therefore arn't very clear.

So it's your choice, you can have a compressed course, revision guide, with a few jokes, with CGP if this suits you, then go for it.

These revision guides saved me in terms of my A2 Chemistry and Physics last min revision (just thought i'd let you know!)

The other thing about these is that they are reasonable priced if your school buys them in bulk then sells them to you, so that could be worth recommending to your teacher, or if you are a teacher, i've told you now! They are normally quite squashed on the pages, but well layed out nonetheless with colours to help you visually follow along, which i find help quite a bit.

I hope my review helped you out, (if so please rate) i wold recommend these books!
