This is the doorway by which we meet Patrick Wallingford, John Irving's character in the book, firth published in 2001. Those of you who do not know, Mr Irving is the best-selling American author. Born in New Hampshire in 1942, John Winslow Irving is the author of more than ten novels, among them The Cider House Rules, The World According to Garp and A Widow for one Year. Irving is married to Janet and they have three sons. He lives in Toronto and in southern Vermont.
I have been reading his works on and off for a long time now and never cease to be enthralled by his prose, narrative and general story-telling. His work is funny and moving, putting people in sometimes bizarre situations ...

I?m not a fan of antibacterial staff in the kitchen, bathroom and everywhere but since I have little kids I have to take care of their health. When we go out to do the shopping I don?t get them out of the pushchair so we don?t use the hand hygiene gel but after playing in the playground I always clean their hands with the antibacterial gel.

Another one of my little Burt?s Bees product this hand salve is one my favourites. It comes in a cute 0.30oz tin as it?s a trial size; the full size tin is 0.60oz. The tin is silver in colour and has a yellow label featuring Burt himself.
The tin is easy enough to open, it is so easy in fact that I was worried it would come open in my bag but this has never happened in several months of use.
The smell is so lovely. It has a strong medicinal smell which I love. It?s no wonder it smells so great; it contains almond oil, olive oil, beeswax, Vitamin E, comfrey root extract, rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus! I have the tin in front of me and I just can?t stop sniffing it.
