Intel Dual-Core Xeon 5130 / 2 GHz processor
Review of Intel Dual-Core Xeon 5130 / 2 GHz processor by mop591

Advantages: very fast, reliable
Disadvantages: pricey, need to have IT knowledge

This dual 2GHZ core processor with combined speed of 4Ghz and a 4Mb Cache makes a very fast pc and will cope easily with many demanding programs running at once. There are probably better deals for the same or better processors, but you are paying for the quality, many dont have a high 4Mb cache. This would be most recommend for IT technicians or people who know what they are doing. The main let down of this is the variation in the price, while ... Read review

The best value for money processor on the market.
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by benzas

Advantages: Blistering Speed
Disadvantages: None

...is the 2nd generation (already) Intel processor based on it's 'core' microarchitecture. The previous being called Netburst, and is still around in Pentium 4's and Pentium D 9 series processors. The beauty of the Core 2 Duo chips are the incredible power they are capable of, which producing half the heat of the Pentium 4's. On benchmarking, this processor alone increased the speed of my computer by 53%. This is a huge amount considering i payed less ...
...The processor has a very fast Front Side Bus (FSB) speed of 1066 Mhz and will work with the fastest Ram you can throw at it. It also stays very cool, even under excrutiatingly hardcore tasks, like encoding 3 DVD's simultaneously while editing my photos in the number crunching monster that is Adobe Photoshop CS2. The brilliance behind it is due to several important things. There is a 4Mb cache (which is a lot more than AMD give you) which is shared ... Read review

Intel Pentium 3
Review of Intel Pentium III 1.13 GHz processor by NAZGUL

Advantages: overal performance and durability
Disadvantages: costs more than rival

...people with a Celeron class Intel Processor to upgrade and reep the rewards of the much faster speed without having to out lay any cash on new ram, or a new motherboad. in many cases its also much more easy to overclock safley than any AMD chip as they tend to run much hotter well in truth damn hot and need many fans to cool them which if you ask me sort of beats the point of the lower price they charge for them and AMD chips do not tend to be as ...
...because intel spends that extra it charges on research and development which in the long run pays off, I know many people will say but AMD are faster and in some cases this is true but most softare today does not even use the newer commands in these chips but as people move to newer processers and software writers make better use of the newer commands you will find that these instructions will be used and so the chip will run even better with the ... Q6600 2.4GHz CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad
Review of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / 2.4 GHz processor by kathymoger

Advantages: Blistering speeds
Disadvantages: Ideally needs Vista 64 bit but few software compatibility probems

Intel have really got it right with this CPU. It was easy to install and runs like a dream. To take real advantage of the power of this CPU it really needs the Vista 64bit version and there are few software compatibility problems now so it is worth taking the plunge. I've never seen software install so quickly on a PC as with this processor and running Windows updates, background tasks, processor hungry games etc. just doesn't have an impact on the ... My experiences with the X2 6000+
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor by moss1234

Advantages: Price, performance
Disadvantages: Heat

A brilliant processor, can run the latest games with ease. Brilliant value too! I play the likes of crysis and cod4 seamlessly with this processor. There are a few things you must be careful of though, first of all this processor gives out a fair amount of heat! I dont feel that the supplied fan is good enough, but that could just be because of my cramped case. Secondly, the edges are sharp! I cut myself while installing it. Be careful! This is ...
...it didnt complain at all. Thats with an aftermarket cooler though. I upgraded from a single core and was surprised the massive difference it made. So, in conclusion, this is a very impressive cpu for an appealing price! Just look at the ciao price comparison and you will see it available for £75! a bargain. I bought mine at £100. I wish i had found ciao then! ... Read review
