Intel Core 2 Duo E6750/ 2.66ghz
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by mazuk88

Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache
Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more

...may know this is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66ghz cpu, It has 2 cores on the one chip. it runs with 64-bit architecture which then opens up a whole new world of 64-bit operating systems for tommorows technolodgy...this along with the fact it has 4mb lvl2 cache makes superfast repsonse rates to programs and files i have also noticed that their are not so many "cache misses" to which i expected so this pleases me the most :D The only downside is ... The best value for money processor on the market.
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by benzas

Advantages: Blistering Speed
Disadvantages: None

...is the 2nd generation (already) Intel processor based on it's 'core' microarchitecture. The previous being called Netburst, and is still around in Pentium 4's and Pentium D 9 series processors. The beauty of the Core 2 Duo chips are the incredible power they are capable of, which producing half the heat of the Pentium 4's. On benchmarking, this processor alone increased the speed of my computer by 53%. This is a huge amount considering i payed less ...
...The processor has a very fast Front Side Bus (FSB) speed of 1066 Mhz and will work with the fastest Ram you can throw at it. It also stays very cool, even under excrutiatingly hardcore tasks, like encoding 3 DVD's simultaneously while editing my photos in the number crunching monster that is Adobe Photoshop CS2. The brilliance behind it is due to several important things. There is a 4Mb cache (which is a lot more than AMD give you) which is shared ... Read review

A good Compromise
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ / 2.6 GHz processor by Nate9090

Advantages: Multi-Tasking, Will Run Nearly All Aplications without a fuss
Disadvantages: Temp Could be a problem, Slightly sluggish on very high end Apps

This processor is good compromise for a person who wants a high end processor but doesn't want to pay the high price. Combined with a good system this little guy will run most games very well, however if you don't have a sound card and are using your motherboard's integrated sound expect a slight drop in performance. At rest my system's temp is about 30 degrees Celsius, but peaks up to 37-40 during heavy use. Temp is however very dependent on the ...
...how many fans you have and/or use water cooling. I have two computers with this chip and I find that it is quite satisfactory. I regularly play video games, download and play music, video edit, and dabble in a little bit of everything and I have not ever ran into a program that I could not run because of a slow processor. The times when I wished I had a slightly faster processor were few, and they were not enough for me to warrant paying the big ... Read review

best dual core performer
Review of Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 / 2.93 GHz processor by neo1983

Advantages: Extreme performance, very stable, low power consumption
Disadvantages: High price, in future I recommend 4 cores (distant future)

...of shared L2 cache , Intel really did a great thing for the consumers. The prices is still high but for those who can afford it is really the best dual core processor. Performance. The performance is best in all domains:games, multimedia, encoding, only loses in quad core specific applications and are few of them. Ease of Installation. Based on the socket 775, the installation is not very difficult but take care that the cooler's 4 conectors to ... Read review

Good all round processor
Review of Intel Pentium D 820 / 2.8 GHz processor by gs.2003

Advantages: Dual Core Technology, Fast, The CPU heatsink + fan are quiet
Disadvantages: Be careful with the new S775 socket motherboards when installing the CPU cooler as can bend the mainboard if put to much pressure to lock the 4 locks

I have used this processor retail version in many a custom built PC that I have done for people. I have tried the D805 (2.66Ghz) and the 3.0Ghz version but for cost and performance this CPU is the one to have for cost and performance in the series. The only problem I can see is the fact that you can get the 900 series version of the 2.8Ghz for a very similar price. The difference between the two are price (but not a lot really a few quid), the core ... Read review
