Disadvantages: None in particular
AMD Sempron 2800+ code name PALERMO [Socket 754] ~1.60GHz [1600MHz] is a 64 Bit affordable and high performance processor from AMD Corp.
Having 256 KB L2 Cache and 800MHz [*8x] HyperTransot running at 1.40 volt, it is suitable for all everyday work and gaming too.
AMD Sempron 2800+ is based on AMD x8664 architecture supporting MMX, Enhanced 3d Now, SSE, SSE2 and NX Bit.

We can extract the ... ...Bit Operating System with it. It doesn't heat up as AMD's older processors.
I run Kubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 x64 having this processor and a 768 MB of DDR 400MHz RAM and its giving me much more than enough.
It can serve you as good as an Intel 2GHz processor.

High performance with a low price tag!
Review of AMD Sempron 3200+ / 1.8 GHz processor by
clairearcher
Advantages: Excelent all round performance
Disadvantages: NONE!
...one for you. Once again AMD have produced a competitively priced CPU which more than rivals the offers made from Pentium. I have incorporated this particular CPU into a relatively low cost self build using 1.5Gb memory using the Windows XP OS. The results observed whilst using the ever greedy resource guzzling Microsoft Office 2007 were outstanding. Excel, Power Point, Word etc. were quick to open without any signs of the all to familiar whirring ... ...had no problems with handling video playback from DVD or with on-line streaming. I had installed a Freeview TV card into the same build which again the CPU had no problems at all handling, with no jumping or picture freezing. I frequently have TV playback on my PC at the same time as using MS Office with very little signs of a depreciation in overall speed of the system. To summarise a good value CPU for speed and stability. ...

good speed
Review of AMD Sempron 3500+ / 2 GHz processor by
tumadi
Advantages: fast n good
Disadvantages: not worth
bought this thinking it was the dogs, well it is, but wish I had bought a x2 dual core CPU for the same price, as this will be more helpful with Vista and other applications. I can't fault this CPU in any of the tasks that I need it for though, it breezes through Quake 4 and Prey with easy, in no way does it bottle my 7900GTX GFX. I think I will only feel the affect of not having dual core when it comes to running Vista in the near future. I would ...

Review of AMD Sempron 3000+ / 1.8 GHz processor by
totalis
Advantages: very good, low price processor, overclockable
Disadvantages: none as yet

i have set up a whole system from scratch and this processor peformed brilliantly, i recomend this processor for all those who want a good low cost solution to upgrading,
NB the overclocking potential ...

cheap but good processor!
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by
ahassan_006
Advantages: cheap & good processor!
Disadvantages: 1m cache
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor is helpful for those people who want to buy good processor but in cheapest rate. It is a stripped down low cost version of the Core 2 Duo. The performance of the processor at stock speed is good. As it is a dual core processor, its multitasking performance is very good. You can compare this processor with other in the following link:
http://reviews.cnet.com/processors/intel-pentium-dual-core/4540-3086 ... ...only. But if you want to play games with it.. then the best configuration will be
1. 1333mhz capable motherboard
2. 2GB of DDR2 800mhz RAM
3. ATI 3850 or Geforce 8800gs graphics card
4. Western digital/ Maxtor hard disk
5. case, keyboard, mouse.....etc
Installation of the processor is easy. It is same as core 2 duo. So no need to worried about it... ...
