More Power
Review of AMD Athlon 64 3200+ / 2 GHz processor by VWCode

Advantages: Great overclocking Facilities
Disadvantages: Fiddly to install, recommend a pro

I brought this processor approximately 2months ago as an upgrade from my old processsor. I found that for the money it was a tremendous upgrade, and that it was just right for a computer with graphic design capabilities, The processor runs without any hesitation or lag, it has plenty of overclocking facilities if you wish to push more power out of your mahcine, which i decided not to, but as a test i did overclock it to 3500 which out any problems, ... Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ / 2.1 GHz processor by neo1983

Advantages: Cheap, sufficient performance, low power consuption
Disadvantages: Core processors are faster and overclock better

As an Amd fan I often check the performance of the new Amd products. Based on a new 65 nm architecture I really expected that this processor is better than than the X2 3800 processor but I had mixed opinions and I'm a little disappointed. The good things: Dual core decent performance at low price Small power consumption , approximate 60 w at full load and only 8w when Cool‘n’Quiet is enabled. Pretty good. Good stability, The processor is stable ...
...controller. Good price The nod so good things: The new l2 cache memory is slower than the old 90 nm fabrication technology Doesn't overclock as good as core 2 processors Smaller performance than x2 3800 in some applications and also smaller performance than the Intel e4000 in many applications ... Excellent value cpu
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by 0602409

Advantages: Good for vista, fast for every day needs
Disadvantages: Not as overclockable as core 2 duos

I bought this back two years ago for around £130, back then it was a monster cpu but obviously today, people will say this is no core 2 duo. However this still does hold its place in the market due to the price segment of around £45 now, which is excellent value for money. For someone spending this much on a cpu, its likely they are after a budget dual core system, but any dual core cpu will be fast enough for vista as long as you equip it with at ...
...had when i first got vista and it never slowed down, and was generally quicker on my setup than XP was. This is because once you go past a certain amount of power in your setup, XP fails to scale that well, but vista being heavy weighted is no good for a powerless setup but is excellent at scaling in speed with faster setups. i found that with this CPU and 1.5gb, you would deffinatly benefit from upgrading to vista from xp (just like i did).
