Advantages: Cool and Stable
Disadvantages: low speed

This processor work very well compare to intel dual core and it is generate less heat. Good for gaming and multi tasking. Among the game i have run on it is Oblivion IV and Fear. Temperature will rise till 45 - 55 but will not exceed 60 degree. At idle temperature and normal task like typing i notice the temperature around 38 - 43 degree. More Power
Review of AMD Athlon 64 3200+ / 2 GHz processor by VWCode

Advantages: Great overclocking Facilities
Disadvantages: Fiddly to install, recommend a pro

I brought this processor approximately 2months ago as an upgrade from my old processsor. I found that for the money it was a tremendous upgrade, and that it was just right for a computer with graphic design capabilities, The processor runs without any hesitation or lag, it has plenty of overclocking facilities if you wish to push more power out of your mahcine, which i decided not to, but as a test i did overclock it to 3500 which out any problems, ... AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ / 2.1 GHz review
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ / 2.1 GHz processor by neo1983

Advantages: Cheap, sufficient performance, low power consuption
Disadvantages: Core processors are faster and overclock better

As an Amd fan I often check the performance of the new Amd products. Based on a new 65 nm architecture I really expected that this processor is better than than the X2 3800 processor but I had mixed opinions and I'm a little disappointed. The good things: Dual core decent performance at low price Small power consumption , approximate 60 w at full load and only 8w when Cool‘n’Quiet is enabled. Pretty good. Good stability, The processor is stable ...
...controller. Good price The nod so good things: The new l2 cache memory is slower than the old 90 nm fabrication technology Doesn't overclock as good as core 2 processors Smaller performance than x2 3800 in some applications and also smaller performance than the Intel e4000 in many applications ... Good performer at low price
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ / 2 GHz processor by nquinnathome1

Advantages: Cheap, good performance, rock solid stability, for 939 (older) AMD boards
Disadvantages: Cast aside by newer processors

This particular X2 3800+ is for socket 939 motherboards, which are now being replaced by the newer AM2 boards available. However, if you want a good processor upgrade without having to replace your motherboard as well, this processor is a great choice. When I purchased it a few months back it was around the £80 mark but the price is constantly dropping; a look now shows you can pick one up for just under £50, maybe more if you shop around. Day-to-day ...
...but for heavy-duty tasks such as gaming or intensive computing it can\'t beat the newer Intel Core 2 Duo processors now available. That said, it\'s still superb as a processor if you intend to use it for gaming; I\'ve thrown a few newish games at it including Command and Conquer 3 and Bioshock and it can handle them no problem at all at stock speeds. The X2 3800+ is also a pretty good overclocker; it stocks at 2Ghz with a 10x multiplier, but you ... Read review
