The last Amd Mohican
Review of AMD Sempron 3600+ / 2 GHz processor by neo1983

Advantages: Very cheap, extremely low power consuption, can be used with fanless cooler
Disadvantages: Poor performance compared with today multi core processors

Well what can I say, single core processor, I used to have something like this not so long ago, a good processor then but now a new era of processors had arrived, the dual core and quad core processors. Nevertheless the processor has it's own and unique advantages and disadvantages: The good stuff: Still not many multi thread aplications that the processor deals pretty well Magnificent power consumption, only 30-35 watt on full load, and 5-6 watt ...
...fan less cooler for a silent and energy efficient computer So cheap The not so good stuff: Modest performance in single threaded aplications Poor performance in multi threaded aplications Say goodbye to HD movies (although some video cards can decode HD movies, but why risk: ) and future applications Modest over clocking on low cost motherboards, only 300-500 Mhz Conclusion: recommended for silent and energy efficient office computers ... Best socket A processor
Review of AMD Athlon XP 2600+ / 2.08 GHz processor by kennygifford

Advantages: Fast, cheap, potential
Disadvantages: Misunderstood

...was always a fan of AMD but when I started to really learn the differences between them and their Intel competition I started to LOVE them. I currently have this CPU running on my main PC, which I prefer to the Athlon 64 3000+ I also have. Granted the 64 has more number-crunching ability, however for the price and limitations it has, the XP soars forward. The temperature and voltage of this CPU may be relatively high, but for it's age it's a cracker. ...
...about, my CPU is unlocked so even more safe overclocking available. As for Pentium 4s... these are more expensive and slower. I recently pitted a 1.7Ghz versus a 1700+ (1.4Ghz) and the AMD won by a significant margin. Intel technology is behind that of the AMD factory. ... Read review

Great upgrade for older Athlon based PCs
Review of AMD Athlon XP 2400+ / 2 GHz processor by danishcake5

Advantages: Fastest 266mhz Athlon
Disadvantages: Not upgradable

...This was the fastest processor AMD released with a 266mhz bus. If you have an old PC lying around which could benefit from this, it's probably better sooner rather than later, as the price has pretty much bottomed out, and the processor is now low end, and some companies may stop stocking it. Make sure you get the OEM version, as it's a damn sight cheaper. It's not like you'll need support for it. ... Read review

Review of AMD Athlon XP 2700+ / 2.16 GHz processor by 6Hades6

Advantages: Fast, cheap
Disadvantages: nothing

...technical because of this today. AMD is a processor for a PC of the manufacturer and the name AMD Athlon XP has 2700+. @ what?s that? @ What all these, these don't know about computers and the components so, I would like to explain himself in this place for a processor or said better is one CPU (Central Processing Unit) and for what one needs something like that. A CPU is so to speak the brain of a computer, it is square or rectangularly and ...
...the CPU?, by which this AMD cannot keep pace with Intel at the clock frequencies, the PR Rating was invented by not calling the outer clock frequency but the internal, therefore AMD can keep pace with Intel again well and a CPU of this type comes approximately to the same values as an Intel pentium 4 with 2.8 Ghz, in addition, the AMD processors are much more favorable than these from the competitor Intel. @ the manufactor @ Advanced Micro Devices, ... Top Range Dual Core Processor
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 / 2.13 GHz processor by TheTechGuy0

Advantages: Good clock speed, good video decoding and overall reliabilty
Disadvantages: Only 2 MB cache

The Core 2 Duo e6400 has many good features: It uses a 1066 MHZ FSB (front side bus) for a fast link on the motherboard. It 2 cores running at 2.13 GHZ The Processor is very EASY to overclock; just be careful. It is energy effecient and runs cool, unless you over clock Not as good features: 2 MB cache low compared to others in the range I found this processor to be excellent; it was extremely fast. With this processor there is no worry of ... Read review
