A pretty good processor
Review of AMD Athlon 1.1 GHz processor by routlej1

Advantages: Cheap as chips, good overclocking potential
Disadvantages: Possibly a little obsolete

As with all AMD products, the Athlon "thunderbird" series of processors offers good speed and excellent value for money. The 1.1Ghz variant displays a frankly moer than adequate performance for most modern desktop applications. It has a wide range of motherboards and accessories avaiable (just look for socket A), including a good range of cooling products. It is rare to find one of these installed in a brand new, off the shelf model, but at around ...
...for thosethat do not require fast performance for games. In fact games are about the only thing that this processor will struggle with, and even then we are talking about the latest 3-D games. If you are looking to upgrading your Pc to a new processor, but don't think you will need the sort of specifications found on newer PCs, then this is a very good half way house. ... Read review

Great, fast, cheap
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 / 2.4 GHz processor by mop591

Advantages: fast
Disadvantages: hard to think of one

This intel dual core processor with 2.4Ghz speed (total speed of 4.8Ghz) with a 2MB Cache can handle an awful lot of demanding programs runnning at once and for the amazingly low price its a very good processor. This processor is also compatable with 64 bit computing. It has an LGA775 Socket which is compatable with most motherboards (up to you to check these things) if you are looking to upgrade or build your own pc. If you are looking to buy a ... Read review
