AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by
Azraeldarcon
Advantages: Great multitasking speed and reliability
Disadvantages: Minimal overheating
...cool in comparison to other AMD processors I have had in the past, and with a little research can be overclocked significantly with little heat increase. I currently use a small liquid cooling system on the processor and have had great success with it. As far as for gaming, there are other processors out there that would be better for performance, but you are going to PAY!!! For the price, this is probably just about the best Dual Core processor ... ...such as myself. Easy to install and maintain. Now for the bad: I have noticed in SOME (very few) games that overheating DOES occur, however this is only during intense moments that truly pull maximum system resources (i.e. epic battles involving many players [if online] or many units battling in the same area [for offline RTS type]). These instances were RARE and can normally be solved by turning game settings down.
Overall, I think it is a great ...

Review of AMD Athlon 64 3200+ / 2 GHz processor by
VWCode
Advantages: Great overclocking Facilities
Disadvantages: Fiddly to install, recommend a pro
I brought this processor approximately 2months ago as an upgrade from my old processsor.
I found that for the money it was a tremendous upgrade, and that it was just right for a computer with graphic design capabilities,
The processor runs without any hesitation or lag, it has plenty of overclocking facilities if you wish to push more power out of your mahcine, which i decided not to, but as a test i did overclock it to 3500 which out any problems, ...

Advantages: very good for games
Disadvantages: not very good for muti tasking
amd have always been the bests for games but never 2 good for muti tasking but if your like me and you can have 2 processors you should have one amd and Intel so your pc will be good for gaming and muti tasking so if you really want a fast pc you should used amd and intel together so that you can do all the things you want or you could just get two of this amd processor so that your pc will be 4.8 ghz with windows xp 64 bit it will work so much better ...

Nice one
Review of AMD Athlon 64 3000+ / 1.8 GHz processor by
dav987
Advantages: Pretty cheap, fast, very cool therefore overclockable
Disadvantages: none whatsoever
It's an amd, it says its a 64 bit athlon 3000+ but what does this mean in plain english!
Well first of all it is 64-bit which basically means that it is compatible with 64-bit operating systems and programs which is not necessary at the moment but in the future it will be.
Secondly, the name suggests the clock speed is 3.0GHz but it is actually clocked at 1.8GHz. The reason it is called a 3000+ is because that is the relative performance output, ... ...than say an athlon xp 1.8GHz, hence the name.
I have had one of these since January, i have had no problems with it at all, it is a lot cooler than the old athlons, mainly due to the new transistor size being 90nm rather than the old 130nm.
All in all a very good, relatively cheap INVESTMENT into a socket 939 system that will leave you with plenty of scope for future upgrades. ...
