Excellent value for Money
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by
cstewart08
Advantages: Quite Fast, Overclockable, Cheap
Disadvantages: 1mb cache
I have had this processor in my PC for around 7 months and it is probably the best value processor around. I put it i my first ever build and it was very easy to install and very fast, probably the fastest PC I had ever used!
After a few days I messed aroung with overclocking and this is when I really unlocked its potential. I don't really have a clue about memory timings etc. so anything extra I could get out of it the better. I could get it up ... ...but its now sitting at 3Ghz as it has been for 7 months and it flies! I have played quite a few games with it including COD4, PES 2008, FIFA 08, GTA SA, Half Life 2 and more, very smoothly. I can also convert a 2hr film to DVD in around 50 mins, on my old computer it would take 4hrs.
Overall a cheap and Cheerful processor ...

standard office chip
Review of Intel Celeron M 540 / 1.86 GHz processor ( mobile ) by
djshauny2
Advantages: cheap and affordable
Disadvantages: standard and not graphic intensive
This is an entry level chip for notebooks, its 1 mb cache makes it faster than its predecessor and is built for running cool in notebooks. It is however designed especially for the office environment as it makes running word and excel smooth. Its a stable little chip and boasts long time life and will outlive most of the components. If you are looking for affordability and basic computing power this chip will do the job. This chip however will not ...

E2140 still clocking!
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 / 1.6 GHz processor by
wakka_man
Advantages: Great OCing potential, Very cheap, Easy to install
Disadvantages: Higher models available at similar price
I have been using this processor since building my computer last year, the reason im still using it is because it is a superb processor, these days this processor is sold on auction sights and can be purchased either with the cooler at about a £100 or easily purchased OEM style as just the processor itself. However i managed to purchase mine for a mere 20 pounds off ebay and ive never looked back since. Since then ive ran games such as crysis on ... ...has it failed me even under the stress of crysis.
Many consider its clock speed as very poor for a dual core but in my eyes this is a gem for overclocking. I managed with ease to clock this processor from a respectable 1.6ghz all the way up to 3ghz each core. Ive been using it as this speed for about a year now and it hasnt failed me yet. This processor is so overlooked and i think its beauty comes in its price and its potential for overclocking.

FAST, CHEAP, BANG FOR BUCK!!
Review of AMD Black Edition AMD Phenom X4 9850 / 2.5 GHz processor by
charwai
Advantages: Fastest AMD Processor, easy to overclock, Cheap, Quad Core
Disadvantages: Not the best processor on the market, Runs hot
Being a AMD fan i felt that Intel was wiping the market with there dual cores and quad cores. AMD was giving me no reason to stick by them. Until they release there new gfx card: HD 4870 (more on that in that review). Wanting to stick by them i saw this claiming to add 'True Quad core technology' i bought this. Probably the fastest processor AMD have. The Black edition lets you unlock the potential of the 'AMD overdrive'. Extremly user friendly any ... ...average processor only intels quad cores are faster but hey i bought mine for £129 which is good value compared too the intel processors. It does the jobs i need it to do such as run games and multitask at the same time!! It runs a tiny abit hot on intense activity a bigger fan will keep it down. But hey we're all not perfect :) ...

Great Power
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ / 3.2 GHz processor by
christian321
Advantages: Fast
Disadvantages: None
Computers now are more demanding and need more speed/power to keep up with performance games and software. Dual core work as two CPU cores which increases performance, it is the equivalent of getting two processors in one. In a dual core processor each core handles data simultaneously to increase efficiency. This processor would be for users who are after 'power' in thier computer. I own this product and it runs like a dream, it has never crashed ... ...all the recent high demanding games such as crysis as long as you have a good graphics card to go with it. Its main use is to multitask which means having more than one program loaded up. I recomend this product to any user who is after high demanding processing. Product details Socket - Socket AM2
Clock speed - 3,2GHz
Bus speed -1000MHz
64-bit - Yes
Price is around £130 ...
