standard office chip
Review of Intel Celeron M 540 / 1.86 GHz processor ( mobile ) by djshauny2

Advantages: cheap and affordable
Disadvantages: standard and not graphic intensive

This is an entry level chip for notebooks, its 1 mb cache makes it faster than its predecessor and is built for running cool in notebooks. It is however designed especially for the office environment as it makes running word and excel smooth. Its a stable little chip and boasts long time life and will outlive most of the components. If you are looking for affordability and basic computing power this chip will do the job. This chip however will not ... Read review

cheap but good processor!
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by ahassan_006

Advantages: cheap & good processor!
Disadvantages: 1m cache

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor is helpful for those people who want to buy good processor but in cheapest rate. It is a stripped down low cost version of the Core 2 Duo. The performance of the processor at stock speed is good. As it is a dual core processor, its multitasking performance is very good. You can compare this processor with other in the following link: http://reviews.cnet.com/processors/intel-pentium-dual-core/4540-3086 ...
...only. But if you want to play games with it.. then the best configuration will be 1. 1333mhz capable motherboard 2. 2GB of DDR2 800mhz RAM 3. ATI 3850 or Geforce 8800gs graphics card 4. Western digital/ Maxtor hard disk 5. case, keyboard, mouse.....etc Installation of the processor is easy. It is same as core 2 duo. So no need to worried about it... ... Read review

E2140 - Awesome Budget Chip!
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 / 1.6 GHz processor by LRDMan

Advantages: Cheap, powerful, awesome overclocking
Disadvantages: Fairly small cache

I was looking for a low budget chip for a new computer, with decent overclockability, and after looking around, chose the E2140. The E2140 really is a great chip, whether its for a basic computer or powerful gaming machine, it can suit most peoples needs! At stock speeds, there is plenty of power for most daily tasks, which is great from a CPU that costs just £45, considering you can pay in excess of £500 for a processor. As well as performing ...
...managed to reach 3Ghz, on standard volts and cooling. This is an awesome overclocker, and very easy too. Overall, I would recommend this to just about anyone looking to build a fairly low budget PC. It offers great value for money, and with a little tweaking, it's power can nearly be doubled! ... dual core beauty
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 / 1.86 GHz processor by sim_simian

Advantages: fast and responsive (though ciao's still slow)
Disadvantages: ummm it's not a quad core

had this cpu for week now happy with the performance in desktop applications, and in gaming; in counter strike source my fps is now between 60-70 running the cpu at stock which is ace. The three best aspects of this processor is the dual core, which helps immensely with multi tasking so if you are like me get bored easily and try and do many things at once this cpu will deal with it fine. Secondly the cache size is a really healthy 2mb which delfinately ... Read review

High performance with a low price tag!
Review of AMD Sempron 3200+ / 1.8 GHz processor by clairearcher

Advantages: Excelent all round performance
Disadvantages: NONE!

...one for you. Once again AMD have produced a competitively priced CPU which more than rivals the offers made from Pentium. I have incorporated this particular CPU into a relatively low cost self build using 1.5Gb memory using the Windows XP OS. The results observed whilst using the ever greedy resource guzzling Microsoft Office 2007 were outstanding. Excel, Power Point, Word etc. were quick to open without any signs of the all to familiar whirring ...
...had no problems with handling video playback from DVD or with on-line streaming. I had installed a Freeview TV card into the same build which again the CPU had no problems at all handling, with no jumping or picture freezing. I frequently have TV playback on my PC at the same time as using MS Office with very little signs of a depreciation in overall speed of the system. To summarise a good value CPU for speed and stability. ... Read review
