Cant fault it.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750/ 2.66ghz
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by
mazuk88
Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache
Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more
...may know this is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66ghz cpu, It has 2 cores on the one chip. it runs with 64-bit architecture which then opens up a whole new world of 64-bit operating systems for tommorows technolodgy...this along with the fact it has 4mb lvl2 cache makes superfast repsonse rates to programs and files i have also noticed that their are not so many "cache misses" to which i expected so this pleases me the most :D
The only downside is ...

Great performer
Review of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by
AdamHonek
Advantages: Fast, quad core, cool running, guranteed G0 stepping
Disadvantages: Q6600 can be had for half the price for only 266MHz less performance
...can confirm this using the Intel Processor Identification tool on their website. G0 means it runs cooler than the older B3 stepping but also is bound to overclock more.
The bad news is that i's 2x the price of a Q6600 for only 266MHz more performance. As long as you can get yourself a G0 stepping Q6600 there doesn't seem a point in spending double on this Q6700, unless you want the 10x multiplier for something.
Anyone who does video/audio editing, ... ...extra cores will profoundly be delighted with this CPU. It makes such a more sensible buy than going dual core. Games and program that don't take advantage of all cores will steal yield a snappier system as the Operating System can spread the load more evenly so you can play a game + encode a video all at the same time without it impacting performance. Boxed versions come with a 3 year warranty, OEM versions come with whatever the merchant offers, ...

AMD 4800+ x2 Dual Core Genius
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ / 2.5 GHz processor by
dwspalton
Advantages: fast, runs cool, easy to install, cheap
Disadvantages: none
...Intel, with exception to an AMD 1800+ that was used as a home server.
The reason for replacing my P4 HT 3Ghz was due to the motherboard systematically failing when the USB devices are connected.
When you buy the retail box, you do get all you need for the processor
- Heat-sink and fan
- Processor (all 939 pins of it - counted of course)
I can recommend getting some thermal grease. This acts as sort of a small barrier between the processor (where ... ...fan (to disperse the heat and keep it cool).
I'm a person that will build a pc and take it apart just to build it again.
When installing processors, there is a small gold triangle on one corner that aligns with a triangle on the motherboard. This must be aligned or else you with break the Processor and montherboard.
I put this processor into a GIGABYTE G52S-S3P mother board and was set to go in about 30 mins.
I also use 2 GB PC-5400 Coasair XMS2 ...

The best value for money processor on the market.
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by
benzas
Advantages: Blistering Speed
Disadvantages: None
...is the 2nd generation (already) Intel processor based on it's 'core' microarchitecture. The previous being called Netburst, and is still around in Pentium 4's and Pentium D 9 series processors.
The beauty of the Core 2 Duo chips are the incredible power they are capable of, which producing half the heat of the Pentium 4's. On benchmarking, this processor alone increased the speed of my computer by 53%. This is a huge amount considering i payed less ... ...The processor has a very fast Front Side Bus (FSB) speed of 1066 Mhz and will work with the fastest Ram you can throw at it.
It also stays very cool, even under excrutiatingly hardcore tasks, like encoding 3 DVD's simultaneously while editing my photos in the number crunching monster that is Adobe Photoshop CS2.
The brilliance behind it is due to several important things. There is a 4Mb cache (which is a lot more than AMD give you) which is shared ...
