My experiences with the X2 6000+
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz processor by
moss1234
Advantages: Price, performance
Disadvantages: Heat
A brilliant processor, can run the latest games with ease. Brilliant value too! I play the likes of crysis and cod4 seamlessly with this processor.
There are a few things you must be careful of though, first of all this processor gives out a fair amount of heat! I dont feel that the supplied fan is good enough, but that could just be because of my cramped case. Secondly, the edges are sharp! I cut myself while installing it. Be careful!
This is ... ...it didnt complain at all. Thats with an aftermarket cooler though. I upgraded from a single core and was surprised the massive difference it made.
So, in conclusion, this is a very impressive cpu for an appealing price!
Just look at the ciao price comparison and you will see it available for £75! a bargain. I bought mine at £100. I wish i had found ciao then! ...

Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor by
truzoids
Advantages: Cool and Stable
Disadvantages: low speed
This processor work very well compare to intel dual core and it is generate less heat. Good for gaming and multi tasking. Among the game i have run on it is Oblivion IV and Fear. Temperature will rise till 45 - 55 but will not exceed 60 degree. At idle temperature and normal task like typing i notice the temperature around 38 - 43 degree. This is impressive, it can make it lifetime longer. i also have try run vista on this proceessor and it run well ...

One of best amd dual core processors
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ / 2.8 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Fast enough, Stable, Low power consupltion in idle
Disadvantages: No room for overclock, High power consuption in full load
...the last good offers that Amd launched in the market to compete with Core Duo processors. My tested version is built on 90 nm tired and true fabrication technology and has several good points, that worth mentioning.
The good stuff:
The performance is good, overall loses to core2 duo E6600 but by small distance and are some applications that really work better on this processor.
The stability is perfect never had a single system crash.
The ease ... ...consumption on idle: 9w
Low price
The not so good stuff:
Loses to many applications to core 2 duo E6600
Relative high power consumption in full load 84-87w
No room for overclock, if you reach 3100 Mhz you're lucky
Conclusion: one of best Amd processors today ...

A good Compromise
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ / 2.6 GHz processor by
Nate9090
Advantages: Multi-Tasking, Will Run Nearly All Aplications without a fuss
Disadvantages: Temp Could be a problem, Slightly sluggish on very high end Apps
This processor is good compromise for a person who wants a high end processor but doesn't want to pay the high price. Combined with a good system this little guy will run most games very well, however if you don't have a sound card and are using your motherboard's integrated sound expect a slight drop in performance.
At rest my system's temp is about 30 degrees Celsius, but peaks up to 37-40 during heavy use. Temp is however very dependent on the ... ...how many fans you have and/or use water cooling.
I have two computers with this chip and I find that it is quite satisfactory. I regularly play video games, download and play music, video edit, and dabble in a little bit of everything and I have not ever ran into a program that I could not run because of a slow processor. The times when I wished I had a slightly faster processor were few, and they were not enough for me to warrant paying the big ...
