Good make - highly reccomended

Advantages: Reliable
Disadvantages: none

...So I bought a 17-inch CTX monitor next. 3 years later, I still have that monitor working in excellent condition and I have 2 more CTX monitors for my other computers. I also have 2 friends that bought CTX monitors and they've had no problems at all. When I'm looking to buy a monitor, CTX is always the brand I'm trying to find first. ...

CTX Value Monitor

Advantages: Cheap, Nice looking, Quite good quality
Disadvantages: power button was stuck when i bought it

I bought this for a PC i was building for a family member. The monitor is quite nice to look at and the display is as crisp as some dearer monitors. It is quite compact for it's monitor type and fits perfectly on a standard computer desk. I have upped the refresh rate to 75mhz and this seems to have sharpened up the display. The monitor had all relevant cables included and seems a bargain at just over £70, i would reccomend this monitor to someone ...
...not want to use a low quality TFT screen. I will now be using this monitor type on all my new pc builds. I have had just the one slight problem with this monitor, when it was delivered the power button was jammed in, simply pressing the button released this and i have not experienced the same problem again. ...

Dukeys 19 inch monster

Advantages: Big screen, loads of desktop, solid build
Disadvantages: Bloody heavy

...my previous monitor, a 15" CTX model which served me very well for 5 years. I surfed my usual selection of PC component sites, and found two monitors which tickled my fancy - a Hansol 19" at a very reasonable £130 ish, and a nice CTX 17" at just under this price. I took a few days to browse these sites, to make sure I had the best price, and the best monitor when I suddenly saw on eBuyer.com a CTX monitor for £136. I had been edging towards the ...
...with my previous model, and this was just too good to turn down. So, what can I say about a monitor? Well, don't expect much in the way of frills with this monitor. It's a basic, entry-level monitor so you'll not get front mounted USB ports, for example. That's not to say it's a bad monitor. Indeed, picture quality at all resolutions is great, very impressive at higher resolutions and you get huge amounts of desktop space. It has a 0.26mm dot pitch, ...

Review of CTX Value VL 950ST

Superb quality, ubeatable value

Advantages: super high refresh rates, superb image quality
Disadvantages: Unreliable but not a problem as warranty it great

...years. HOWEVER, the warranty from ctx is a 24hr replacement service so you'll get an identical or better one working delivered free within 24 hours (next working day) of it failing. Good stuff and after this happened the first time I couldn't give a dam if it failed again as it was such quick service, and for such a great monitor at such a silly price it was worth it! You can get these for around £100 now, so if you're after a superb 17inch crt, ...

Decent flat screen crt

Advantages: Bright and sharp
Disadvantages: Hard to get image exactly the right size/shape

I bought this about a year ago to replace an old 15" screen - the difference was incredible! This screen is sharp, bright (anything above 50% brightness is too much) and clear. You can get 1024*768@85hz, and lower resolutions at higher refresh rates. The front of it is completely flat (though it's not quite as perfect as a flat panel one) and the picture quality is high. It's quite heavy, as the glass front is thick, so you won't want to move it ...
...menu system could be a bit easier to use), and if you set the computer to a mode the screen can't take then it will automatically turn off so it doesn't get damaged. It's a good monitor, equally for games and work, and if you don't need the desk space a flat panel would save, or a resolution higher than 1024*768, will serve you well. ...
