HP Pavilion Monitor-great value
Review of HP Pavilion M50 by
gena_marie
Advantages: Clear, crisp picture
Disadvantages: Heavy, HUGE, not flat
This monitor came with my HP Pavilion M50 computer system I bought some five years ago. It's a 13 inch monitor and is, of course, made for the HP Pavilion M50 system, but is compatible with other towers. (duh) First off, for the whole system, we paid $99.99 for the whole system. You can buy the monitor, which is 6 years old, for about $25 now. It features detachable external speakers, a microphone (in the top face), an on/off button, four different ... ...and a swiveling base which allows you to move the monitor up and down for better viewing. In this day and age, this monitor is very DEEP. It measures 16 inches deep, making it difficult to fit into many computer desks. With the speakers attached to the sides of the monitor, it is 20 inches wide. It is also 15 inches tall, including the base. It is quite large and heavy. So far, I have logged approximately 7500 hours with this monitor and have had ...

Compaq V500 The beauty from Compaq
Review of Compaq V 500 by
Kaspars
Advantages: Good quality, healthy
Disadvantages: Exspencive, not verry pretty
Well, I used this monitor for 6 month, It is has good look, but the biggest advantage is quality for this product. This monitor have 100H frefreshrate and i like i very much. It has permision of Ecology energy and ergonomics emission picture on it. On front of it there is three buttons "+"; "-"; and menue button. It is very easy to use this menue. In menue there are default opptions like, Size, Geometry, Language, Degauss, Menagement, Factory Reset. ... ...then i would like. The design is not very pretty, so you must use to it. Monitor leg is not very sensitive and you must push hard to put monitor in good position for you. And on the end this is not Trinitron monitor but an ordinary cathod ray tube. I suggest to buy this monitor for person who needs work a lot of hours, because this monitor is healthy for eyes, res 1024x768 is on 85Hz ...

LG Studioworks Works Well
Review of LG 57M by
ben-lloyd
Advantages: Integrated speakers and microphone, good picture
Disadvantages: Small, CRT, questionable build quality
...15" monitors the 57M from LG has no real distinguishing features bar the two speakers built into the sides of the monitor and covered with a blue-grey fabric. The monitor is encased in beige plastic and has six buttons used to carry out various functions (like turning it on!). In the centre of the casing at the front is a small grille located behind which is the integrated microphone LG proudly boast of. There is also a small LED to indicate whether ... ...necessary leads are supplied by LG in the box!
~~~ Operation ~~~
As we have come to expect, this monitor works straight out of the box and does not require any special drivers or the like for Windows to recognise it. Macintosh users will need to purchase a 15-pin to DVI converter before connecting this to their Mac.
The monitor is powered up using the large button on the right-hand side of the front casing and the LED next to it will light green ...
Exellent!
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 510 B by
karakula
Advantages: Eyes are not tired!
Disadvantages: almost none
Very good monitor. Comparing with Samsung 400b (I use it on my work place) it is the real difference. Almost real plane demonstrates real forms of every shape: circular is real circular! Eyes do not become tired after many hours of work. Samsung 510b is real monitor that I had wanted since those time when I started to work on PC.
And there are so many service functions that I am afraid of their study – I use monitor without any adaptation since ...
Compaq V55 - End of the road for 15" CRTs?
Review of Compaq V 55 by
gusgusrule
Advantages: Cheap, relatively small, does everything a monitor should do
Disadvantages: bland design, old fashioned,
The Compaq V55 is an ideal monitor; it was an important part of our receptionists life for a good 5 years but after recently replacing it with a TFT, I decided it was only fair we rewarded it by giving it a good write up on ciao.
---------
PRICE
---------
It was back in 1997, in which our comapany first purchased this monitor. We had a dell base unit which was perfect for the general office work of the receptionist; now all we needed was a nice ... ...jazzed up, like the recent Compaq ones come in silver and the dell ones are a stylish midnight grey. But at the end of the day, design wasn't particularly important to our office, as long as it did the job, perhaps if your buying the monitor for home use you might fancy something a bit more snazzy.
--------------------
EASE OF USE
--------------------
The monitor is really simple to use, its plug and play which means you connect it to the back ...
