IIyama Vision Master Pro 454
Advantages: Sharp Picture, Flat Screen, High Resolutions, Speakers on the front. Disadvantages: Takes up a lot of space on a desk, 2 thin horizontal lines going across the screen
This is the best monitor i have ever had, i've had it for about 2-3 years now, and i don't look to be selling it to buy a TFT or another CRT. Everything is crystal clear and very sharp! Games Play like a dream because of the cripsness of it.
I currently use a screen resolution of 1600x1200 and it handles it very well even at 120hz. The screen is completly flat, there is a usb hub connected at the side of the monitor, this is very handy if you run ... ...This monitor also has speakers built into it just incase you really need to hear something (i have never used them before, but i can imagine that they are probably not the best things in the world!) One disadvantage in my opinion would be that there are two very thin horizontal lines going across the screen (one near the top, and one near the bottom). I've been told that this is because of the flat screen instead of the usual curved CRT look. This ...

A great CRT with stunning picture quality.
Advantages: Great picture quality and BIG screen. Disadvantages: Only suitable for BIG desks.
I've had my Iiyama Vision Master Pro 513 for a couple of months now and I'm dead chuffed with it. I've always shied away from LCD or TFT screens partly because of the price and partly because of the latency (think of it as 'shadows' that are left behind because the screen cannot change the images quick enough.) CRTs are much more capable of very high refresh rates, much quicker than the human eye can perceive! This monitor is no exception with a ... ...a second!) and the human eye is only theoretically capable of seeing somewhere around 25Hz, but purists will say that the faster the better.
Image quality of this monitor is top notch and the maximum resolution (picture detail) is a whopping 1920 x 1440 and that's still at an impressive 75Hz. This is ideal for many professional needs such as web design or CAD but also a dream for the avid gamer who wants as much detail as possible when they frag ...

IIyama vision master pro 1413 17"
Advantages: Price, quality, reliability Disadvantages: Not for advanced and demanding users
1
IIyama is definitely one of most recognized and respected both CRT and LCD manufacturer,( for Windows and Macintosh)
and that places it above other producers on market because of it's expirience, and japanese origin. Sometimes people say that company that is focused on one specific item makes better stuff and if it comes about IIyama i can fully agree.
External look
IIyama vision master pro 1413 17" is simple monitor without addons like speakers ... ...Support
Even though it's IIyama it is still just a CRT and unfortunately it has broken after almost 3 years usage.
IIyama gives us 3 years door-to-door warranty. One phone call and next day monitor was taken from my doorstep
and after one week i had it back again, working and polished - first i thought i got a new one.
IIyama proved to be professional company that cares for costumers long time after buying their product. (5/5) Conclusion

Excellent monitor for Graphics work
Advantages: Clear, true-to-colour image, flat and non-distorted picture. Disadvantages: Price, weight
Being a graphics artist, I require a steady, flicker-free, sharp and true-to-colour monitor. Even in this day and age nothing beats the kind or CRT this monitor has. It is a well-known fact that the inherent properties of LCD monitors give a lot of problems for graphics work. I have looked around for a possible TFT replacement for my main monitor, but have found that the technology for me does not give me what I need, not even in the top of the line ... ...problem if you need to use accurate (small) tint differences and/or shading on images. So I reverted back to looking at the CRTs I could still find. Combinin the excellent picture tube with a fully flat front surface with the no-nonsense and calibration friendly adjustments, this monitor has it all!
Some people would find the two thin horizontal damper wires on the image tube annoying, but it is a small price to pay for having an image that is not ...

A high quality screen.
Advantages: Clarity, Sharpness Disadvantages: Weight, Size
...above average.
Iiyama have built a good reputation for making monitors and it is well deserved if this monitor is anything to go by. It may be a little difficult to get this model now as it is a couple of years old – but the 454 Pro is basically the same as this monitor but with built in speakers and a USB hub.
One criticism I would level at this monitor is that it may have a limited life – mine has started to take a while to turn on at first and ... ...takes a while to settle. However I have been told this is something to do with the Trinitron technology used in these flat screens. (Note: the monitor does work but takes a while to turn on – though this could always be my computer not my monitor’s fault).
When I bought my 452 it cost me around £300 though they can now be purchased for around £40 less than this if you shop around. At this price they are cheaper than a 17” TFT and with a 19” you ...
