A very good choice of CRT monitor

Advantages: Clear, crisp picture.
Disadvantages: Quite deep, degauss when turned on.

This is a good CRT monitor and can be found at a very reasonable price at auction. 17" works best at a 1024x768 resolution with a 75hZ or more refresh rate. This monitor has a very clear, crisp picture, and a range of settings to set it up to your liking. Works very well for a gaming setup, I see no problems when laying fast-paced games such as UT2004, and DVD playing is also great. The only two problems I have with this monitor are the large ...

Best 17" CRT monitor: PHILIPS P50

Advantages: image quality, contrast, brightness, lightness
Disadvantages: weight

I use this CRT monitor for about 3 years now and I can say that I am very satisfied with it. In my opinion, it is the best 17 inch CRT monitor that was ever built. I am saying this due to my long experience with it: during this period of 3 years, my eyes never hurt, I never felt sleepy or had headaches. And that with an average of 5-6 hours of using it per day. You might say that I am some sort of person that is not affected by monitors. That is ...
...another monitor for 30-40 minutes. On the second hand, the specifications of this monitor are excellent, I have tested it even at 2048x1536 and it worked properly. I use it now at 1152x864@100Hz. Quality of the colors is good, Moire effect is less visible, lightness and contrast is excellent. When comparing it to a LCD monitor, the only disadvantage I can see is the weight of 15lg which will be an impediment if you have to move it around. At all ...

Giving you a clearer picture...

Advantages: Large sized screen with great definition and good value for money
Disadvantages: It is very big and looks a bit clumsy

...**Design and looks** The Philips 107E76 is certainly not going to win any awards for looks. It is quite a bulky monitor and has a large presence sat on your desk. Indeed, the design is slightly different from many monitors, and yes - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sadly, it is not a great piece of artwork in my eyes. However, it is very robust and is extremely sturdy and well built. I think it would take quite a hefty blow to break it! The ...
...of space to sit it on your desk. If space availability is a problem then this monitor is not for you. Fortunately, we have a corner desk and it is able to fit rather snugly in the corner up against the wall. Overall, the design and looks gets a sturdy, but not eye catching 5/10 **Features** The monitor has all of the features you would expect. However, it is not the easiest thing to operate and can often lead to those 'Oh no, what have I done ...

Philips do make good monitors dont they!

Advantages: Good price tag, Bright Screen, High pixels, Easy to adjust
Disadvantages: doesnt Fit certain speakers

...not in a chunky way. Philips have designed this monitor so it is curvy and not angular. The buttons fit in place well. All-round, the monitor is basic but not cheap looking. Simple to use The monitor is easy to use as it only has 4 buttons (Power, Select and left/right) Onscreen controls are easy to follow and simple to use. I had no trouble. When playing computer games... Refresh rate is decent, dont brilliant. It runs at about 35 Frames per ...
...The Man-ufacturer I phoned up philips when i had a problem connecting my old speakers to the back of my new monitors. The man on the other said "no problem, just buy our new range of speakers to fit this monitor, they only cost £20" so instead of getting help, i got a salesman. Not good! The instructions were clear and easy to understand, i had no problem there. The steps were easy, bold and simple to read. This is a value monitor, most monitors ...
