    Advantages Advantages great thinking ability

Disadvantages Disadvantages sometimes easy to miss clues

I have never watched CSI on TV, but I do like a good mystery game to get my brain cells thinking. I was intrigued by CSI Dark Motives for the ds when I bought a CSI game for my WII. The two games were different with different storylines which was good as I find that if they are the same I never want to buy on more than one console no matter how different the controls might be.Outline of the gameYou play a new Crime scene investigator (CSI) in this game, working with the stars of the TV show, Catherine, Warwick, Nick, Sarah, Greg, Al and Jim. The game is set over five levels, each of which ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Playability, no freedom in the lab, difficulty to spot evidences

"Hey, Vic, why don't you buy the DS version of Dark Motives? You will not be forced to install again the PC version and being reminded of the constant frustration.... Well, you know, after playing Hard Evidence, you know that playing an old game is a worst thing... - But it cost 40 euros and I will have only 10 in my wallet for the week! - We're Wednesday, Thursday, you don't have lessons and Friday, you have nothing to buy. And you're in your writing-walkthrough period! With the DS, you'll check if the PC walkthrough is the same as DS. - Grrrr, that means that I must find my notes and the ... more

Advantages Advantages Interesting only for a while

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very repetitive, cumbersome controls

CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) : Dark Motives is a game for the Nintendo DS, based on the television series, and requiring you solve various different cases with logical thought and using various tools to examine the crime scenes. The game controls can be quite fiddly, giving the appearance that the game is more of a port from the PC versions of the game released a few years ago, rather than the game being re-designed to meet the requirements of the Nintendo DS itself. Using the Nintendo's stylus is very fiddly on occasions, with a lack of thought in my mind being given to the actual playing ... more

Advantages Advantages very strategic, good to get you thinking, very intricate

Disadvantages Disadvantages some parts can be very hard but keep trooping on

This is an excellent game. It makes you think and use your brain to make the clues fit. Some parts are difficult to get past as the clues are very intircate but keep going and you can do it. And to top it off at the end of each part you get a quiz of 4 questions that detail the scene and evidence you have collected, the questions are very specific so keep a keen eye out!! All in all the game is very strategic and keeps you on your toes, try not to get too frustrated or it will beat you, I almost gave in a few times, you just have to be patient as you get used to it you learn all the tricks ... more

Advantages Advantages Good fun for those wanting to be a CSI

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very long winded and compliacted in places

I love CSI and thought that the game for the DS would be my chance to become my own detective. The games graphics are good and the story is well explained however i found it complicated in places especially when it came to analysing the evidence and the instructions on that part of the came did not help much. I thought it was very in keeping with the CSI series and enjoyed being able to search different locations. It is a game that takes time and patience and ideal if you enjoy solving puzzles however i found the witness statements all too much and if honest i gave up on the game as i lost ... more
