Quite simply one of the best 17inch crt monitors out there. There are only a few monitors that display useful resolutions at over 100hz and the 710f is one of them. Refresh rate is the speed at which the monitor refreshes the page. You may notice on smaller or low quality monitors have a distinctive flicker that can severely get to your eyes if you look at it for more than an hour or so. With a refresh rate of 100hz for example, this flicker is not noticable so you can view the screen for long periods without too much trouble.
The 710f can display up to 1152x864 at 100hz. Fantastic! On a 17inch you won't want anything higher than this really as the icons get very small indeed!
Image quality is also superb and the 710f won the computer shopper best monitor award a year or two ago. Games look great and as I have already said, looking at it for long periods is no problem so word processing is much easier on the eyes.

You can get these for around £100 now, so if you're after a superb 17inch crt, you don't need to look elsewhere really! You can of course pay over £200 for a 17inch crt for some sony or mitsubishi diamond tron, but the picture quality difference is virtually indestinguishable.
The EX710F offers all the price/performance benefits of the EX700F but is capable of resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 at a flicker-free 77 Hz.
