Review of Sony VAIO NS Series VGN-NS30E/W

Why the W series?

Advantages: huge screen, excellent quality, symbolic tv, 1080p panel, 8ms response, 8000:1 contrast...
Disadvantages: vga input maxes out at 1366x768 and not 1920x1080 :( price, sound's not that good.

Sony's KDL46X2000 was the TV everyone had to have...I almost purchased one myself...until I saw this beauty! The KDL46W2000 has all the benefits of the X series (Read - 1920x1080p panel!) with more of the cost of the V series! It seems to me the only difference between this TV and the X2000 is the BRAVIA version...The X2000 has the BRAVIA EX engine, whereas this one has the "Standard BRAVIA". I presonally couldn't justify the extra £500 for the extra "EX", so I ordered this instead. I bought it from Digico for £2100 about a month ago. When it was delivered i was totally bemused by the sheer size of the thing! Upgrading from a 29" 4:3 Sony Super Trinitron HiBlack (which isn't small itself!)...the power to turn heads...well...this TV is mesmorising to say the least - even when turned off! With 2x full HDMI, 1x HD15 PC VGA (max res ...

Review of Sony KDL-46 W 2000

PMI of the W580i

Advantages: It has a step counter and other features, plus it looks good
Disadvantages: Camera and memory don't look good compared to other Sony Ericssons

The W580i looks flash, its stats look impressive and it is a very good all-round phone. However, for a new-ish sony ericsson the 2MP camera leaves a lot to be desired. It hasn't got as much memory as many other W series phones, either, with a 512MB memory and the in-built memory of a 112 year old lady. This is to say, none. On the other hand, it looks flash, and the step counter is something to show your friends. When compared to representatives from other phone brands the memory looks good and even the camera looks better. What we have here, then, is a phone that is slightly above average but not by much. Myself, I'd get this phone if it was free with my contract but otherwise, I'd have to think a bit more... ...
