Not so good points. It does not have any method of heating the coffee after it has been made unlike many coffee makers. This means that the coffee will only stay hot for about an hour. Personally I think this is a good thing because continually reheating it makes it taste stale in my view.
How does it work? It has a small grinder into which you put the coffee ( beans or ready ground). You add the water at the back and then turn it on. The machine makes quite a bit of noise at this point as it grinds the coffee ( you can disable this if using ready ground). Once this is finished the water is heated and then pours over the coffee, washing it into the filter and then filters through into the jug.
How easy is it to wash? You can remove the grinder in two parts - and the filter and holder as another three. These parts can be quickly cleaned with hot water and a brush - I see no need for soap. once dried they can be replaced ready for the next coffee brewing session.
How much? I bought mine second hand for £60 on Ebay, but they are about £120 to £130 on lots of web sites - for example John Lewis.
Advantages: Great freshly ground coffee and easy to use Disadvantages: Expensive
I bought this machine in September. It has been a great coffee maker for us. We wake every morning using the timer to hear our coffee beans being ground and then the smell filters through our house. It has various settings and can be used with either beans or ground filter coffee. The timer makes it almost unique on the marketplace. It doesn't require any filter paper and is easy to clean.
One downside is that mine just stopped working and I have ...
