CUSC Foneguard Insurance

First of all, as other reviewers have pointed out, this policy does not cover you for loss. However, reading their website sales pitch about how important it is to cover your phone against loss, its easy to be fooled into thinking that their policy does in fact cover you for loss. At no point during the purchasing procedure do they make it clear that it does not. You have to read the small print. I turned down Orange Care (a comprehensive but expensive way to insure your phone) in favour of something a little cheaper - CUSC Foneguard. The "who the heck are they" thought crossed my mind but I read their webpages (not the slickest ever, but functional all the same) and spoke to their staff and it reassured me enough to go with them. The cost is £2.99/month (standing order) for contract phones, and a flat fee (can't remember how much) for pay-as-you-go. These prices seem to apply no matter what phone you have. I feel like it is my duty to inform everyone i possible can about CUSC FONEGUARD company claiming they are insuring you for : * Breakdown * Damage * Stolen * Water damage * Loss * Unauthorised calls Do NOT be fooled like me! Paid my insurance for over 2 Years and never claimed anything. Last week i was a victim (i was picked pocketed) on the public transport and my blackberry curve was gone. I can echo the sentiments of many of the other reviews. My phone was pickpocketed whilst I was out in town with friends. Again the police questioned me as though I was a liar in order to get a police reference number and make a claim, which was an awful feeling. The policy does not cover you for theft unless a violent act has occured. So short of being mugged or threatened the policy will not cover you. This policy is cheap but really isn't worth the paper it is written on. I would recommend choosing phone insurance through your service provider. Although a little more expensive the policies ... more
